Bazla's POV:

"Noir, you're scaring me!"

Noir seemed to space out for a bit, but she blinked her eyes now. "Sorry, who are they again?" She said as she laughed.

I scratched my head in confusion. "I hate you whenever you do that."

She snorted. "What, am I not allowed to mess with you?" Noir playfully nudged me. "But their names sound gorgeous. I bet they're both hot?"

"My goodness, Noir! I just told you I'm bothered by how Priya was to me, and all you can think of is if they're hot?!"

"Aww, don't tell me you're jelly." Noir answered in between giggles. "You know you're my favorite human."

Noir loved to tease or annoy people around her, so this is a normal thing between us. "Okay, as I was saying before you rudely interrupted me, I actually spilled my coffee on her by accident. And instead of her being so mad, she's weirdly nice to me."

Noir took out her phone and started to browse the internet for their names. "Mon dieu! You spilled coffee on this hot chic? Is this your way to get her attention?" She asked as she chuckled.

"That's a lame way to catch any girl's attention." I replied as we stared at Priya's info on the net.

"A fashion magnate! Oh man, I suddenly doubt if she's really 'nice' to ye. But let's see the other lady..." Noir said as she typed Kamilah's name on the search panel, her focus on her phone screen. "Magnifique! Now, that one's hot." Noir admiringly stared at Kamilah's stolen picture. "Did you say they're sponsors on your program?" She mischievously asked.

It was my turn to raise an eyebrow at her. "I can see horns growing out of your head, Noir."

"Oh, come on. I can't help it if I have a thing for enigmatic ladies!" She returned her attention back to the phone. "Ugh. Why does she have to be damned rich? A CEO? Great way to be outta my league, Kamilah!"

"I think she's okay. She seemed really refined."

"Yeah, she is sooo fine! Just look at her!" Noir squealed. "Please tell me she's gonna be at the party, Bazla! Or else I'd be doomed single forever!" She dramatically added.

"Duh, of course she'll be there. But you're not gonna be doomed single since you're too flirty with other women!"

"Oh puh-leeze. Like any other girl is comparable to this beauty." I noticed that she zoomed on Kamilah's face and took a screenshot of it. She then set it as her wallpaper. "Yasss, that's my future wife. Mark my words, Bazla. That woman is mine."

I rolled my eyes again at her. Noir can be really crazy sometimes. "Yeah right, Mrs. Sayeed." I said in defeat.

"Right back at ye, Mrs. Lacroix."

And we both laughed out loud.

Noir's POV:

Since it's Bazla's day-off, I asked her to come with me at our rehearsals. I told my bandmates Vamp Bites to do this free concert for a fundraising event, and they agreed since it's for a good cause.

"Has anyone told you guys that you look similar?" Kaitlyn, one of the singers and the guitarists asked with a smile.

I just shrugged as Bazla spoke. "We get that a lot. Noir should be flattered though." And they giggled at her remark.

I've met Bazla Fitzgerald when I moved in to the house next to hers. I grew up with my granny who's a distant relative of ours since I had parents whom I've only seen in pictures. When my gran was still alive, she used to tell me that my parents and a younger sibling of mine died in a car accident. Yeah, that was tragic. But mourning is definitely not my forte. I don't know, I'm just the type who doesn't feel deeply.
