"What a pleasure to see you again, Baron." Jameson said as he welcomed the Baron. Behind him were three of his men with stern looks on their faces.
"Let's cut to the chase, Jameson. What is it that you wish to discuss?" Baron promptly replied as he checked on his pocket watch. "I don't have all day, so speak up." He demanded without looking at Jameson.
Jameson cleared his throat. Now that he knew that the Baron isn't happy with the rest of The Council members' decision of letting the Clanless be a part of them, it will be easier to persuade Baron. "If you'll please have your men outside, it'd be better."
Baron rolled his eyes. "This better be worth my time, Jameson." He turned to look at his thugs. "Wait for me outside."
They waited until Baron's men were out of sight before Jameson spoke. "What are your thoughts of the Clanless, Baron? I believe your vote has been outnumbered."
Baron spoke through his gritted teeth. "Who the hell told you that?!"
Jameson's lips curled into a small smile. "Let's say that I had a small talk with the newest addition to The Council, Jax Matsuo. I believe he was quite happy that your point was not considered by the other members."
Baron could feel his blood boiling in anger. "I should've killed that bastard long time ago when I had the chance!"
"Do you have any plans of taking him down?"
Baron's brow twitched, somewhat suspicious of where Jameson is heading at. "Why are you asking me?"
"Personally speaking, I'm not in favor with the Clanless." Jameson began. "They will only cause conflict with The Council. What if their own members were the ones doing the illegal Turnings without Jax's knowledge?"
A slow smile appeared on Baron's face. "Are you saying what I think you're saying? That I CAN do illegal Turnings and put the blame on the Clanless?" Baron asked in a mischievous tone.
"Exactly."
Baron turned his stout body around from where the familiar voice came from. A surprised look crossed his face upon seeing Gaius. "What is the meaning of this foolishness, Jameson?!" He angrily demanded while staring directly at Gaius' eyes. "He's not supposed to be out of his coffin!"
"I hope this doesn't change your mind." Jameson said in a low voice as he quickly tapped a finger against Baron's forehead.

Bazla's POV:
Since Noir and Kamilah had disappeared, my other friends, specially Priya never left my side. I can't say I'm not happy about it, but it's so unusual to have someone so close to me aside from Noir.
"Hey, Bazla... uhm... I haven't thanked you yet for saving me."
I turned and saw Jax with a sheepish grin on his face. He held out a hand for me to shake. "I believe we haven't been formally introduced. I'm Jax Matsuo, leader of the Clanless. And that lady over there is our member named Lily." He said as I followed his gaze to the pretty lady with glasses and tattoos, who's talking to Dilay and Lubna cheerfully.
I took his hand and gave it a light squeeze. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm sure they already told you about me."
He scratched the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. "Yes. Adrian called me and told me about you and your friend Noir. I hope she and Kamilah are alright."
I let out a defeated sigh. "I still can't believe everything that happened, Jax. I'm worried about Noir. I... I don't know how to deal with all of this without her."
