HOGWARTS - the day came and hogwarts was upon little Riley, and she still wasn't exactly talking all too much which worried her mother but she hoped maybe making friends and going to school would help her open up more.

"Riley you don't want to be late for the first day of hogwarts now! Hurry!"

Sighing softly, Riley takes one hit of her joint that she had been smoking which she learned after hanging her "friends" that day after the pond. It was quite magical for a muggle thing and it sure helped her pain with her father gone. She picked herself up and walked to her desk where the letter sat she had only got a few weeks ago for her birthday wasn't until mid of February she would be a young one of her class.

She grabs her suitcase and her cage where held her black owl named Midnight, with eyes of the day time sky which sparkles like gems in the rocks. Riley bent down, she looked inside as she sticks out her finger. "It's okay lil one, it's okay..."

The owl calmed at her voice and listened well, Riley smiled before standing up and walking to up with her mother to make her way to the train, the same train she had seen her siblings all leave on all her life. There her mother waited for her at the bottom of the daunting staircase.

"Ready?" She asks as Riley quietly placed on her circle glasses which had shaded in yellow; hippie glasses she had bought one day with her muggle friends.

"ready.."

She may have made muggle friends but it was very hard to keep her secret from them at times, yet she always still did enjoy Clary's, Jace's and Sebastian's company especially when they all got high together, they were only a year older than her. With that, Riley and her mother left the Whitefeather's household.

Her mother held her hand tight and with a flick of her wand, they're at the station and Riley jumped as the train blew its whistle. Her mother chuckled as they walked trough the crowds of people which Riley didn't like, it was all overwhelming for her. Being dragged by her hand, she could barely kept up with her mother's speed - being pushed and shoved every way possible.

"Serenity!" Someone called her mother's name, which made her mother smile like no other.

"Ah Charles and Wendy Potter!" Her mother embraced two parents like they were old friends, a little boy was with them - maybe a year older than her. Messy raven hair and brown eyes like oak trees. He was familiar, no doubt she thought.

He jumped right in front of her, with a cocky grin and a cheerful voice. "I'm James Potter and you?" He asked with confidence in his voice, gryffindor for sure Riley thought.

"Riley, Riley Whitefeather."

"Whitefeather what kind of last name is that?" He asks laughing, holding his stomach as he laughed. She turned away in quietness, not upset or mad - just very loopy into the distance to where the train stood tall and mightily.

"SIRUIS ORDIN BLACK, YOU STAY WITH YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!" the screaming voice scarred Riley, shitless as she jumped as did James. A boy was being yelled at by his mother, who's crazy black hair was fizzy as a bear's fur.

"Oh brother..." James mumbled looking to the boy with a familiar look.

"Do you know him?" Riley asks curious.

"Yeah that's my best mate."

Riley nodded and looked back to James's best mate as he put it, Sirius Black - what an odd name, she thought but she didn't have room to say much. "Children," James' parents and Riley's mother stepped in front of their view of the black family. "Time to get on the train."

"Mum what about siruis?" James asked.

"He will find you, James - now I want you to watch over Riley here, first year for her and remember what we talked about," his father, Charles said stepping down to his son's height. James nodded and puffed his chest with bravery. Charles chuckled and ruffled his hair. "That a boy."

Riley's mother step to her level too, looking Riley in the eyes. To have the exact color of her father's eyes, one green eye and one blue eye. It was odd and creeped out most people, but others found it enchanting like a spell. "Make friends, love. Get good grades, maybe go to a game?"

Riley was never into sports, always stuck in her room smoking and drawing - her mind never went to anything else, but her daydreams. "Okay mummy." She says sounding almost like a robot with no emotion. As if given an order to do so.

Serenity sighed and hugged her baby goodbye and with a kiss on the cheek, she turns to James and says," watch out for her." He nods with pride remembering Riley as young kid when he was four and she was just turning three. He was her favorite cousin, and he loved being there but after his uncle died. The family just wasn't the same, and from he saw Riley wasn't either.

"Come on Riley," says James grabbing her hand, startling her but she goes along to the train with him knowing James will protect her from any bullies or she hope so. Their parents waved off as the train rolled away, Riley didn't wave. She just stood there staring out. Her mother stopped waving at James and held up her peace sign to her daughter, Riley did the same then turned away and sighed wishing she was home smoking.

"Okay Riley, lets go find some of my friends, I think you'll like them - expect maybe peter, he's a bit ratty if you ask me," Riley nodded and followed her cousin, they weren't blood related. But their parents were such good friends as kids - so being cousins, was just how it was for them.

After searching, James only found his friends - there was three of them. Siruis Black, the boy who was yelled at - he was laughing at something. His laugh sounded like a bark of a dog, which Riley liked. His messy long black hair looked like silk and soft to the touch. And his brown eyes were the amazing thing she had ever seen. There was another boy with scars all over him making Riley sympathize for him, he had caramel hair and the most beautiful brown eyes too.  Then lastly a mousy boy with blonde hair and odd grey eyes, who gave her uncomfortable vibes.

"Progs! About time you found us, mate - who's shorty standing behind you?" Riley looks over to Sirius who asks who she is, making eye contact- they seem to have an staring contest and Riley was winning with her dreamy distant eyes.

"This my young cousin, Riley - it's her first year at hogwarts. And ay no flirting with her, mates code!" James the said sending a small glare in Sirius, who shrugged jokingly then put his hand on his chest and nodded.

There they sat and Riley didn't talk, just sat there taking in the vibe of each of them - taking in their body language and tones, to get a better feel of who she was with. James wasn't all too bad since she's known him, but the others she wasn't all too sure.

"So Riley are you excited?" The boy with scars asked putting down his book which caught her attention.

"Very.." She replied very quietly and her voice seemed dreamy and not there in the moment, he nodded with a small smile taking her shyness as it was.

"Sirius I thought Mum told you stay with me," a very angry voice snapped making Riley look to the hall and see what she guess what was Sirius's brother, a first year much like herself.

"You're a man, Reg - take care of yourself," Sirius snap back harshly - with that Regulus stormed away and Riley didn't like how this played out. So she stood up and grabbed her bag making James jump in.

"and where are you going?" He asks making the boys look to the small strange little girl.

She turned around to face them, her glasses off and her eyes blazed with colors. If there was one thing she didn't like: was bullies. "Going to making a friend, instead of sitting here listening to your so called best mate bully his brother."

And with that, she left quickly after Regulus Black - who after that day became her best friend that day...
