Myles
I swear these guys are going to be the death of me, and that girl...the way she made me feel, I thought my heart leaped to my throat at that moment. I forgot to get her name.
After the confrontation in during lunch I don't know if I could dare ask her name, she probably thinks I'm a douche. "Are you going to skip out on musical theater?" I asked Jake, his parents are the reason we're even having this play and I joined the class just for shits and giggles so did Devon.
"Now that you mention it...I just might." He had that smirk like he knew something I didn't, he always did that since we we're kids and on god that shit irritated the fuck out of me. I felt myself getting riled up but quickly took a deep breath just like the therapist said and felt calmed.
"What is in that class thats so interesting huh?" Devon asked. "You'll see." He simply stated.
I'm not the biggest fan of surprises, you could even said I hate them, but I had a hunch this would be a good one. Jake started heading towards the class, Devon and I looked at each other before shrugging and following along. We exited my now favorite hallway where that girl danced through.
A little ways down we saw a girl run by who look eerily familiar. Now I really knew what this surprise was about. I couldn't help but smile a little as well.
When we arrived the teacher wasn't there as usual so the door was open Jake pushed past it and entered to see that girl sitting down on the floor reading the script that was given for the play. "Wasn't she chosen for the main girl." I thought out loud and Jake nodded. "And I'm Danny." Jake pointed to himself proudly, he strutted over to her about to pull something bold of course.
I sighed in my spot, at first I wasn't too big about it since I didn't know she was going to be in it, I would do anything to have that spot whether or not there is a kissing scene doesn't matter to me, just being close to her. I felt my heart pick up again, how was she getting to me this much.
Just great.
I looked over to her again and she looked terrified and slightly annoyed with Jake. What in the world did he say to her. I walked up to the two. "What are you doing." I asked, Jake looked at me tilting his head up as if to look superior to me. "This is Alissa, she's my partner for the play." He was already trying to lay claim and we just learned her name. Devon sensed what he was doing and basically dragged him by the collar of his shirt "Come on, let's go, hurry it up." Devon repeated while taking him away. Alissa as I now learned her name was stared in disbelief, suddenly raising her eyes to me sending me a quick smile "Thank you." Her voice was so sweet, I could play it on repeat all day, her smile practically lit up the room. My stomach leapt to my throat and I froze up. Was this what it felt like to be...I love? "Uh...yeah whatever." I shrugged her of and her smile quickly diminished.
Did I do that? Shit.

We spent the rest of the hour and a half watching Jake learn to dance, I would say I held in my laughter like the theater kids but I when he stumbled I let out a chuckle. Not to say when his scenes with Alissa came up I didn't tense up.
There was something about the way he grinned while holding her that stung a bit. Especially how she looked longingly into his eyes smiling while all I could do was stand in the back looking like I liked the person who played Rizo...what was her name again? Annie? I'm not quite sure, but I looked forward to the ending of this class so I could get a moment with her, to introduce myself.

"Jesus Christ, finally!" Devon groaned. The class had ended, who knew musical theatre could be so stressful. I waited out for Alissa not quite sure if I should go up and say hi or not. She was talking and smiling with her friends, somehow she looked even brighter than before, I felt myself freezing up again.
"Why you look so red?" My shoulder was bumped by Devon. "Red?!" I pulled out my phone to look at the front facing camera, and Devon was right. I looked like a fucking tomato! I remained calm like I usually did "Probably the stupid dancing we did." Lies. Devon knew it too he cocked a brow looking devious.
"You and I know damn well that Alissa is fine as hell." I stared longingly at her. How did she have me wrapped around her finger without even realizing it.
I'm no saint. In fact I'm just like Jake and Devon, if they didn't speak as much. Girls gush over how they like the strong silent type to me and I shrug them off. Sure they were good for a fling but when I realized I was becoming like what I hated the most I stopped. Although sometimes I find myself hanging out with Daysha for a little too long.
Devon swung his arm around my shiulder "I just need to find away to get with her and have her all to myself." They were already laying claims to Alissa, I haven't even gotten to speak to her without having a heart attack.
"How are you sure she likes you." I asked looking smug, he quickly retracted his hand placing it on his chest acting hurt. I rolled my eyes and left the class, I wouldn't speak to her...at least not yet.
I stalked down the hall looking red and dead, my hood was up despite the complaints of teachers. I couldn't stop thinking about the radiant smile that Alissa had. Devon had to leave early for an away game, so it was just Jake and I. He kept gushing about how it was to dance with Alissa even though he hated the very existence of musical theatre.
"Yeah, yeah...she sings nice and dances well and helped you with steps. But I don't believe that she forgot your creepy flirt-"
"Hey boys." I was interrupted by a familiar voice. Daysha. She spoke in a flirtatious tone always, well at least to us. "So, I need to ask you a question." Jake and I looked at each other confused. She came all the way to the other side of the school for a question? "Okay and..." Jake trailed off waiting for Daysha to complete the question. "That girl Alissa...what do you guys think of her?" Jake spoke bluntly "She's cute. I like her." He shrugged, you could almost see the vein showing up on Daysha's forehead. "And you Myles?" I nodded towards Jake not wanting to beat around the bush for long since I didn't exactly have a relationship with Daysha "Same as him."
Daysha shifted her stance now folding her arms. "That girl is no good. We used to be friends before she made everyone in our friend group hate me with her innocent act. Atleast I picked myself back up and joined the cheerleading team, where I have actual friends. In the cafeteria when you asked me to go get her she called me a slut. A slut! And now she's trying to get you guys on her side." She rambled about how evil Alissa is. I wouldn't believe Alissa would be plotting something just by meeting us. At least Alissa got the slut part right. Daysha kind of slipped her way into the friend group through Jake and then hopped over to Devon, obviously I didn't want any of that so I declined when she offered a relationship after breaking up with Devon.
"Are you sure we're talking about the same person?" Jake folded his arms. He looked as if he was already growing tired of the situation. "Fine! Don't believe me? Don't come crying to me when she ruins you." She was flat out screaming at us. "Then don't come crying to us when so called rumors about you and the teacher come up." She quickly went quiet. The only dirt we had on her was her relationship with the teacher which was incriminating for both parties but at the end of the day she was failing math...
She huffed again and stomped off somewhere. "Come on let's go." I told Jake, my good mood was quickly drained by Daysha once again.
