Jake
The air in the car was awkward with Myles brooding this whole time, I turned on some tunes to at least ease some of the tension but that was quickly shut down by Myles. "What even happened to your ride?" I asked, last time I saw him with his car he was having another outburst.
"It got taken away. I broke too many traffic laws..." He mumbled. Of course he did...
I reclined in my seat keeping a hand on the wheel and heading for the club house because this man child was definitely not fit to be around his mother.
While focusing on the road he finally broke the deafening silence. "Do you think she hates me?" I rose a brow wondering who he was talking about, if this was going to be another talk of parental issues then I didn't want to partake. "Who?" He quickly cut in to answer. "Alissa..."
"Well I don't know why she would hate you but I would assume she just barely knows you." I answered the best I can, since I've only seen them talk once other than exchanging the occasional look.
He sighed looking more depressed than before he asked the question. "Look, she doesn't even like me that much either, she'd rather be buddy buddy with Devon." I gripped the wheel harder for a moment then remembered that Devon was my friend, and he was usually the funny one.
"Fucking Dev." Myles seethed, I wouldn't be kidding when I say my head whipped around so quick. He can't be blaming Devon for his lack of interaction with her. "I don't think Devon should be at fault here, I'd say just talk to her y'know. The blame game is not what we're playing here." I chuckled dryly. "Anyways let's stop this talk, or at least save it till we're not in a moving vehicle."

We arrived at the clubhouse, it was more of a bachelor pad but we don't refer to it as that since it's always been a staple for us to have some sort of hideout even if it didn't look like it.
Myles slammed the door and headed in leaving me in the car. I should tell him not to come by. I got my phone from my pocket and started texting away, when I felt he was informed enough then I took myself inside too. "Myles, can you pass me a beer?" He looked up from his phone then back down. "Get it yourself." Rolling my eyes I walked into the kitchen to get it myself.
What was so good he couldn't help a guy out. He'd been staring at that phone since I came in, his expression was hidden behind his phone screen I only saw his smile when I looked over the island. I squinted, what could possibly make him all happy go lucky tonight after having a mini meltdown at the pier. Creeping over quietly I looked at the phone.
That's Alissa!
On his screen was her instagram with several photos, some of places she's been and some of herself, no doubt that could make any guy crack a smile. He'd brought up a photo of her smiling with an array of flowers around her, maybe she was in a garden of some sort. Either way she was absolutely "beautiful..." Myles swung his head back turning off his phone immediately. "Hey what the fuck!" He shoved me away, it hit me that he never asked for her social media or anything of the sort. "I should be asking you the same thing! When did you become such a stalker?!" His eyes widened, he clearly took offense. "Stalker?! Well I was going to ask her!" I laughed in response, ask her? "Ask her when? In a million years from now?!" His face grew red, I'm not sure if it was from embarrassment or anger but I was sure ready to rebuttal.
In that moment Devon had showed up, horrible timing as always. He came in giggling and smiling. We both stopped our nasty argument to look at him. "And where have you been?" Myles raised a brow. I knew this night wasn't going to end anywhere near nice.
Devon looked at him confused. "I was just dropping Alissa and her siblings off...am I interrupting something?" I shook my head glaring at Myles not to start another fight. "You aren't interrupting anything." He smiled then walked in to take a seat on the couch. "Good 'cause I wanted to tell y'all, I got her IG." He waved his phone in the air and I looked at Myles, the irony of this was so bad I couldn't help but laugh.
"What's so funny?" Devon once again looked confused. "Yeah, what's so funny?" Myles spoke through clenched teeth. I waved it off just keeping my laughter to myself. "Send it to me later okay?" He nodded.
"How was it? Giving her a ride?" I asked to sparked up a new conversation getting another beer to hand to Devon. "I'm not even gonna lie. Ali's chill, I thought she'd be all uptight but she was pretty nice. At least around her siblings." I shouldn't have even asked. And Ali? What was with the sudden nicknames?! "Yeah...let's just play something." I pointed to the PlayStation. "That's a plan, I've been planning to wipe the floor with you in 2k." He was just joking but now I was starting to feel like Myles. "Just try it." I gritted through clenched teeth, he laughed but stopped when his phone vibrated. He picked it up to just stare and smile. I would have asked who that was but of course I already knew who it was and I would say I wasn't jealous since I have so many girls begging for my attention but I'm ashamed to admit I was.
Myles couldn't even stand what was going on and just went upstairs saying he wanted to sleep, I should have done the same since we could barely play the game without him stopping to stare at his phone. "I'll head up too." He nodded and continued texting away.
I flopped on the bed staring at the ceiling, God this was getting to me. I tried to shut my eyes then my phone buzzed, I groaned opening my phone to see who was texting. It was just a message saying Hey, is this Jake? I looked at the profile picture.
It was Alissa...
