Finding the Lady

It had been a full year since Sadoka's kidnapping and Grell was still determined to find her. As long as they were alive Grell would still look for her. Grell was walking through the Soul Society after finishing his job. As he walked, William was walking in from the opposite direction. William looked at Grell with his classic stern look waiting for Grell to swoon over him. Grell simply walked past William with a cold look in his eyes which caught William off guard. William stood still and turned to see Grell who was still walking. Grell glanced back to Will with the same cold stare from before which, for some reason, frightened him. William continued his walk while thinking about Grells odd behavior. Usually he would always be glad to see William swooning over him daily but lately he had seemed more grim and depressed. This for no reason concerned William. He was so use to the old Grell that this new version of him was hard to comprehend. William decided to have a late night talk with him after his job had ended.

~later that evening~

William waited at Grell's front door knocking on it waiting for an answer." Grell!" He called out." Are you there?...I would like to talk to you!" William was about to give up and turned when he saw Grell closing in on the apartment room." Will?" Grell asked curiously." Why are you here?" Grell had a look of concern and wonder." I came to visit you if that's alright." Will said giving a slight bow to Grell. Grell took a moment to think before nodding." Alright...just..be careful." He said as he began to open the door." It's a bit of a mess in here." As Grell entered, he moved out of the way so William could enter. The reapers room was indeed messy as he had said. There were used tissues everywhere and the trash can next to his bed was filled to the brim with used tissue.the room was decorated with everything red since it was his favorite color. Two pillows were scattered on the floor and some of Grell's plushies were scattered on the floor as well." What happened here?" Will said trying to keep his composure after entering the messy den." Alot..." Grell said plainly not wanting to describe anything more. Will simply nodded and took a seat on Grells bed dropping his somewhat cold act since he was off of work." So...where have you been?" Will asked curiously. Grell glanced at Will before walking to the bathroom." I was out looking for someone." He said simply getting ready for a shower." Who are you looking for?" Will asked not knowing Grell and Sadoka's relationship." You remember 'her'?" Grell asked being cautious of his words not wanting to lose his calm and composed look he had. Will's eyes widened knowing who he was talking about." Y-yes...and what about her?" Will asked recomposing himself." She had a child that I took care of...until last year...."Grell said stern choking up in the last sentence." What happened to her?" William asked a bit concerned knowing how much Grell was connected to 'her'. Grell stepped in the shower and bathed as he began to speak." A fire burned the home down and....and...." Grell said sobbing in the middle unable to finish remembering the night. There was a moment of silence as Grell finished bathing and William stayed silent in respect for Grell. Grell stepped out of the bath changing into a night gown and brushed his teeth. Once finished, he headed back to the main room and sat next to Will learning on him a bit." There was a fire...and Sadoka....w-was stolen from me...." Grell said hiding his face from William as his tears spilled from his face. Grell gripped Wills arm as he cried waiting for his tears to die down. Will turned to Grell and hugged Grell which made the red reaper cry harder.
After some time, Grells sobs had died down and Grell at that point felt depressed." It's my fault..." Grell said thinking of the night." If I had only been there sooner I could've..." He said before choking up again."I'll help you look for her." William said out of nowhere. Grell swiftly looked up to William with a look of surprise." R-really?!" Grell said tears in his eyes as he observed Wills eyes to see any sign of lies in them. Will nodded keeping his eyes firm. Grell gave a soft smile as he hugged William." T-thank you Will...." he said simply not knowing what to really say." No problem Grell...." Will said sympathetically to the red reaper.

A few days passed until they got any leads as to where Sadoka could've been. Grell was wandering the Dispatch Association with papers of work he had finished when Will rushed up to Grell." I have a lead." Will said simply as the two looked at each other stern." Alright." Grell said simply." Let me turn in these paper and we will go search for her." Grell rushed down the hall as Will nodded heading outside waiting for Grell. Grell soon arrived and had his death scythe in hand." What is the lead?" Grell said waiting for Wills response. Will nodded as he pulled out the to-die list." There are several kids who have been kidnapped in several areas and there is one place I've seen them all be traced to after they have died." Will said stern. Grell nodded as Will lead the way to a warehouse in the eastend of London. Grell noticed several men with kids in their arms who were knocked out. This would be a sneak mission for most times, but for Grell this was going to be a reckless scene. Will noticed Grell standing up on the roof of the building they were hiding on. The look in Grells eyes were terrifying for even Will. It was the clear hatred Grell had locked within him.
