I move aside and let him walk in front of me. He opens the door and leads me into the airport.
“Welcome to Logan Airport.” He says just before he wanders off. Well, I have some time to kill so I guess I’ll see if I can find a decent pair of pants and shirt, maybe even some not torn up shoes. I walk towards a little gift shop and begin browsing.
(Ray’s P.O.V.)
As we ride in the taxi, in a comfortable silence we approach the small airport and everyone exchanges glances. You can practically feel the anticipation in the air. The taxi slows to a stop, geoff hands the driver his debit card, pays and we’re off.
“Geoff where do we start? I mean, Gavin could be anywhere.” Michael points out.
“We’ll do what we did earlier. Ask if he was here and where he went.” Geoff starts walking, and we do the only thing we can do, follow him. He swiftly walks up to cheery, smiling lady ready to help him.
“Hello sir, how can I help?” She seems to actually like her job.
“Well, I’m looking for a british man” He holds up the picture, “Who came here not to long ago.”
“Oh, that’s… Mr. Free, correct? He wanted a flight to Austin, Texas as soon as possible.” She says, unaware of the situation. Geoff’s eyes light up, Michael takes a hopeful breath and I, well can’t stop smiling.
“We need tickets to Austin. He was in a plane crash, ended up here and we’ve been looking for him. Please.” The lady starts typing and frowns.
“I’m really sorry sir, but we don’t have any more flights to the US this week.” I swear I see a tear fall from Geoff’s face.
“Then I guess I’ll have to pay for a private plane. I don’t care how much it costs. Put it on my card.”
“Sir, are you sure? It’s very expe-”
“Yup. Positive. Now, how soon can we leave?”
“Well, I guess whenever you’re ready.” Geoff turns around, claps his hands and says,
“So, you guys ready?” We all nod, and follow the cheery lady. She stops to talk to a well dressed man, who we start following. He takes us to what I assume is his plane. He shakes Geoff’s hand before sitting in the pilot’s chair as we work our way to the back.
