*Algee's POV*
"Damn, it's hot as hell out here. But not as hot as me." I smirked into my rearview mirror before I hopped out of my Jeep. I walked into the shoe store and went straight to the Jordan section. I was admiring the 'Air Jordan III - Black Cement' pair until someone called my name. "Yo Gee!"
"Broski!" I said as Keith and I did our handshake. "What's going on, man?"
"Nothing, just getting some shit done."
"Ryan got you running errands already?" I joked.
Keith laughed. "I ain't whipped like you."
"Oh ok." I said, turning my lip up at him. "But I bet you got her a pair of shoes in that bag though."
He looked down at the bag in his hand and back at me. "Whatever man. The baby shower is tomorrow, right?"
"Yep." I nodded.
"You excited?"
"Bro, excited is an understatement. I'm anxious, nervous, and eager all at the same time. It's gonna be worth it after all the morning sickness, mood swings, and weird ass appetites. I'm so ready to meet my baby boy."
My phone started to vibrate in my pocket and I grabbed it to see who it was. Keith must've seen the look on my face because I heard him snickering.
"Wifey calling you home?"
I smacked my lips. "I'm a grown ass man and I go home when I feel like it. But I'll get up with you later, B."
I walked out of the store and back into my Jeep to make a call. "Why you ignored my call?" The person on the other end asked.
"Baby, you know I would never ignore you."
"I guess. I want something to eat."
"Okay???"
"Can you get me something?"
I let out a deep huff. "Alicia, I just bought you some food yesterday. I can't be doing this everyday."
"Pleaseeeee. I'm really hungry right now."
I rolled my eyes as I started up the Jeep. It gets on my nerves when she begs for something. "Aite. I'll be over soon."
The next day
The house was full of caterers, family, friends, gifts, and food. HUGE amount of food. Everything was blue and white.
I was sitting downstairs with everybody, waiting on Terri. Then, her sister walked into the living room.
"May I have y'all attention right quick?" Tasha yelled and all conversations ended. "I need everybody to come in the foyer please."
We all got up and went to the foyer. We waited as she stood in front of us. "I present my little sister, Terri Daniels-Smith!" She announced with the biggest smile on her face as we all looked at the top of the spiral staircase.
There she was. My breathtaking Queen. She took her time on each step as she waved and smiled. I met her halfway and walked her down the rest of the way. I helped her into her seat as everyone came back into the living room.
Soon, we started to play games like 'My Water Broke,' 'Pregnant Twister,' and 'Are You That Baby?' The guys thought it was funny when I caught a leg cramp during the second game, but that was nothing compared to guessing the baby pictures of the guests.
During the last game, I got a call. I went outside to take the call real quick. "What Alicia?" I asked in a frustrated tone.
"You never wanna spend time with me anymore," she whined.
"Don't start that right now. I told you I was gonna be busy today."
"You always use that excuse, Algee."
"I'm a married man. I have more responsibilities to take care of than you."
"You didn't say that at the beginning."
"You already knew that." I breathed out deeply. "I gotta go. I'll deal with you later."
I hung up and rubbed both of my hands down my face. I hate that I let myself get into this type of situation. I'm not tryna be another Kirk Frost, but every man has their temptations. I should've fought against them, but I fell weak and became tempted. I don't know how I'm gonna tell my wife because I love her with all of me. I don't want to bruise her emotions more than I already am.
