Keiths POV

I turned my back to a stunned Pidge and a confused Shiro. Lance was not just a thing, he was a person. And he wanted to be in the pool, so I'll take him to the pool. When i reached the stairs i stepped in and gently placed him in the water. He swam away, but soon rising in the middle of the pool.
"AHHH HOLY SHIT IT BURNS, MY EYES HOLY FUCK AHH"
Lance thrashed around in the middle of the pool, rubbing his eyes. "HOLY SHIT LANCE ARE YOU OK COME HERE"
Lance swam over to me, rubbing his eyes and squinting. He gripped the edge of the pool, blinking rapidly at me and cursing under his breath. I'd forgotten that our pool was chlorine and i guess Lance hadn't ever felt that in the ocean. "What kind of water is this?? It burns my gills AND my eyes"
"I'm sorry, i forgot to tell you that theres chemicals in the water to keep it clean. You can breathe air right?" He nodded. "Ok, i have something for your eyes, I'll be right back" i ran inside, pidge and shiro still in shock from the sight of me carrying lance out into the pool. I grabbed a pair of goggles and ran back out to lance, who was right where i left him. "What are those?"
"They're called goggles. You put them over your eyes and you can see underwater without the water actually touching your eyes. I'll help you put them on." I reached over and fixed them to fit his head. "There you go, try them out Lance" he swam away under the water, quickly reaching the other side of the pool. He popped up and looked at me. "IT WORKS!!" I laughed. Lance swam back over towards me. "When are you coming to swim with me, mullet?"
"I dont know. You wont try to drown me will you?" Lance smirked at me and giggled. "We'll see." Thats when Pidge and Shiro walked outside. Lance scooted to the corner of the pool, nervous. "It's ok Lance, these are my friends. The short one is Pidge and robot arm over there is Shiro. They won't hurt you." Pidge gave an uncertain and nervous wave, which Lance returned. "Um.. I'm gonna go study.. You guys have fun.." She went inside. Shiro sat at the edge of the pool. "Are we sure this thing isn't some sort of monster that's gonna eat us while we sleep" "Shiro how many damn times am i going to tell you this! Lance is NOT a thing, and he is NOT going to eat us!" "Sorry, I'll go. Im gonna order a pizza so don't stay out here all night please." "Yeah whatever." Shiro went back inside while i stayed outside with Lance. "Are you hungry lance?" "Yeah, actually. Starving." "Uhhhh i think we have some dried seaweed you could have? Theres a chance we might have fish sticks in the freezer.. Actually, I'll go check. Be right back" i ran inside and started ransacking the pantry, fridge and anywhere else food might be to find anything related to seafood. I loaded my arms and ran back out to lance. "Ok so heres whst we've got: Frozen fish sticks, dried seaweed, a tiny bit of caviar, and sea salt flavored potato chips. I'd have to heat up the fish sticks for you and can you eat fried food..? I dont know i just looked for anything that looked seafoody, i hope you can eat that" lance started laughing. "Keith, chill out im not gonna die. I have a human stomach, I'll be ok. Wouldn't be the first time i ate a sailors lunch" "Oh, ok. Well we're ordering pizza if you want some of that." "Sounds good, but I'll take those sea salt chips to snack on" I opened the bag and handed it to him. "Eat over the edge of the pool, shiro doesn't want food in the water." Lance nodded like he understood. I heard Shiro calling for me. "Keith! Pizza's here!" Oh, I'll be back in a sec. I grabbed all the food lance didn't want and i brought it back inside. I grabbed two slices of pizza and went back outside. "Here you go, careful its hot." I set the plate down in front of him and sat next to him dangling my feet into the water. I took small bites of my pizza, staring into the water. It was almost sunset. "Have you ever watched a sunset Lance?" I asked. "Well, kinda. Not really. I've never watched one all the way through, but I've seen the colors reflecting off the ocean's surface." I stood up and grabbed my and lance's empty plates, starting to walk inside. "Where are you going?"
"I'll be back, dont worry"
I went inside, putting the plates in the sink and running to my room. I changed into swim trunks and grabbed my phone, hooking up to the bluetooth speakers and playing music in the pool area. I put it down, grabbed my own pair of goggles and ran outside, throwing myself into the pool. Lance swam over to me as i came up for air, pushing my hair out of my face. "Your mullet looks worse when its wet." He smirked at me. "Hey dont make fun of my hair, flipper" i laughed. "Oh shut up" "Make me fish boy" i said, grinning at him. "Aight" he said, cracking his knuckles, never letting the smirk off his face. He put his arms around my neck and pulled me under. He laughed, but instead of just bubbles i could hear him perfectly. "What's wrong mullet? Fish got your tongue?" I laughed too, but only bubbles came to the surface. I stuck my tongue out at him and went up for air. Lance took longer coming up but when he did i pointed out that ths sun was setting. "Lance, look!" He muttered a "woah" under his breath as he stared at the beautiful colors painted across the sky. We sat in silence for a while, just staring at the sky. Eventually the colors faded and it got dark. I looked at lance, it looked like he was in a daze or something. He had a blank, almost sad look on his face, and he was just staring out into the water. His eyes seemed to glowin the dark. They were such a bright blue that they contrasted the colors of the dark water, the black sky, and lances beautifully golden skin. As i looked at him, i noticed the freckles that gracefully lined his cheeks. There were even some on his shoulders. He really is gorgeous. I started doubting wether i picked up a merman or a siren. Then he silently scooted closer to me and laid his head on my shoulder. "Lance.. Its late, and i can't sleep outside. I gotta go." He grabbed my arm. "Aww pleaaase keeeiiittthhhhh im gonna be lonelyyyy" "no way im sleeping out here. But.... I guess i could bring you to the bathtub again..." He seemed happier at the mention of the bathtub. "YES!! Put me in the bathtub!!" "Ok ok geez calm down..." I picked him up and walked over to the backdoor. We went all the way upstairs and i set him down in the water. "Aw man, i liked being in your big, strong arms~" i was a bit flustered by this. "Definitely a siren." I said. "Heeeyyyy i am nottt!!!!" Lance whined in protest. "Goodnight fishboy" i said. lance let out a long sigh before muttering "Night mullet" , and attempting to fall asleep.
