{Ch.13} The Livestream

*Maddie's P.O.V.*

It's been about a month after my first day of school, and it's only gotten worse. I haven't come home with bruises on my face which is good because I don't have the girls constantly asking what happened to my face, also because that means I don't have to lie to them.

"MADDIE GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS!!" I heard Dinah yell.

My eyes got huge, I didn't even prank her, why is she mad at me? Oh my god what if she found out that I'm getting bullied. Or even worse, what if she saw the cuts on my wrist.

Not wanting to keep the beast waiting, I dropped everything and ran down the stairs like my life depended on it, which it did because I mean come on. It's Dinah we're talking about.

As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I put my hands on my thighs trying to catch my breath. As soon as I did I looked up and immediately apologized for whatever I did wrong, but I stopped when I saw all of them smiling at me. "Am I gonna have to run for my life or did you call me down here for something good?" I asked, preparing myself to run as fast as my legs would take me. The five girls just laughed at me, "It's something good, we just had Dinah yell for you because we know you're intimidated by her the most and you would get down here faster." Lauren said, I just rolled my eyes and asked why I had to come downstairs. "We want to know if it's okay to tell our fans about you, we just want to do a quick livestream to tell them." Camila said, I immediately froze up.

If the girls tell people about me, then the people at my school will know. If the people at my school know I'm adopted by Fifth Harmony I might get bullied even more, and what if the fans don't like me? There are so many of them I don't know if I will be able to handle their hate as well.

I was pulled out of my thoughts once again by Lauren, "You good Mads?" She asked me. I simply nodded my head and told the girls "it's okay to tell them, do you want me to be in the livestream as well?" The five of them nodded. "Dinah's gonna tweet about the livestream, it's gonna happen in 30 minutes so go get your cute little butt ready" Camila said, I simply nodded and went to my room to get ready.

"Ready baby girl?" Camila asked me, I gave her a reassuring smile because she seemed almost as nervous as I was. "Yeah, I'm ready." I said confidently, even though I never wanted this to happen. I have never really been a fan of all the paparazzi following you like a stalker, or the crazy fans that follow you everywhere you go, I'd much rather stay at home where I know I'm safe with the girls who are me real family.

Before I knew it, we were about to begin the livestream on Instagram, as soon as we went live, there were thousands of people already joining. Earlier Dinah tweeted: we have some big news to share with all of the Harmonizers!!! And when I was reading through the comments, the majority of the people were saying the big news was another tour, others were saying it was a new song, a lot of people were saying "OMG CAMREN CONFIRMED" and of course, Dinah had to like one of those tweets so fans were going crazy, but one tweet caught my eye, it said "omg did one of the girls adopt a child??" and when I was reading the replies they were all saying something about it being for more recognition and to get all over the news, why can't these people just think the girls did something out of love?? Unless they are just using me for more publicity... they wouldn't do that... right?

"Hey guys! So today we wanted to do this little livestream to finally tell you the big secret we have been keeping from you for about five months now, Mila why don't you tell them." Dinah said. Camila looked over at me and gave me a little smile and waved me over to her. As I came into view of the camera, I gave a little wave and smiled at the livestream. "This..." Camila started, I sat on her lap while she introduced me, "is my daughter Maddie. We adopted her about five months ago, Mads why don't you answer some questions?" Camila asked me, I was too fixated on all of the comments coming in. There were some really nice people saying stuff like
Omg she's so cute😫😍
Or
She's so lucky, I hope the girls treat her well❤️
As much as I would like to focus on those types of comments, I couldn't. Instead, I focused on the comments that said

Ew why would the girls want to adopt her out of all people. She's ugly af and probably doesn't even care about the girls. They made a mistake... more like she is a mistake

Someone as ugly as that shouldn't get to live with queens like them

There were so many more, Lauren noticed I wasn't talking because I was reading the questions, thankfully she told the fans that we could answer questions another time. Before I knew it Lauren was carrying me up to my room as I was crying into her chest, holding on to her like my life depended on it. "Baby girl I know it's hard not to focus on all of the bad comments, there is always going to be something that someone hates about you. That won't change because no body in this world is perfect, not you, not me, not Camz, not anyone. I think it's best if you don't go on social media for a while, let the people settle down until you do at least." She said while laying me on my bed. They hated me. All the fans, just everyone. I do not want to go to school tomorrow, now everyone knows my secret. Maybe some girls will think it's cool, but I doubt it. Not that living with fifth harmony isn't cool, I just think the girls will be more jealous of me than anything. Until tomorrow.
