When Things got Weird

Jugheads POV

       Things were finally back to normal. The black hood was caught and Riverdale was safe once again. I was with Betty and Archie was with Veronica. Things couldn't be better. Right now I was trying to focus on the future and forget about the past. All the stupid things I did and said were behind me now and I couldn't be happier about my decisions. 

      We were in school when I felt eyes burning into my back.  I decided not to turn and look because making eye contact with the person behind me would be awkward. Things might be better in Riverdale now, but I still wasn't much of a people person. In fact, I hated most of the kids at my school. They all couldn't keep their opinions to themselves. Looked back down at the book I was reading and continued. But I couldn't help but wonder who it was, staring at me for the whole class.

     That night was the pep rally. The one we had every year at the beginning of the school year. It wasn't that big of a deal, but, none the less everyone was there. The Jocks, cheerleaders, and all the popular kids were all there. Like, every single one of them. I sat besides Kevin since Archie, Betty, and Veronica were all part of the pep rally. It was pretty boring since Kevin could not stop gushing about how all the football players were hot. God, he could be annoying. As soon as the pep rally was over, I went down beside the fence to wait for Betty. But instead Archie comes over, looking as weird as ever. 

       He had this embarrassed look on his face. He was blushing while he ran over to me. "Hey Jug" He said. "Hey" I said in my casual tone of mine. He was acting very odd. He kept staring at me like I was gold or something. "What's wrong?" I asked him, feeling concerned. He shook him self quickly like had just been in a trans. "Nothing" He replied quickly before his face turned a bright red. What is up with this kid? "Ok" I said slowly. I looked at him, waiting for him to say something. "Why did you come over here?" I asked. He didn't reply. "Archie!" I yelled, trying to get him out of his trans. His eyes quickly looked back up at mine and then down to my lips. What is he doing? 

        Next thing I knew his lips were smashed against mine and his body pinning me up against the fence. At first, I was shocked, not knowing what to do. Then I realized I liked it. It was different than kissing Betty. It felt..... amazing. I kissed him back and he was momentarily surprised. We just stood there kissing for what felt like hours before he pulled away and smirked. The smirk was quickly replaced by a blush and he simply said "sorry" before running away towards the locker room. "Archie!" I yelled, trying to get him to come back, but he just kept running. Then Betty came up behind me and asked "What were you guys talking about? Why is he running?" "Oh, nothing important" I replied, still shocked by what just happened.

       I could not believe that Archie Andrews just kissed me and I kissed back.
