Fate:
The next couple of weeks went by slowly, but had a lot of progress to them. After Griffin's death, Charlie insisted on E staying at Peirce. Having her in the world with some people wanting to kill her for a stupid thing her father did, did not comfort him or her. She was scared and unsure at first, but finally caved. E continued to work at the Station and Charlie checked up on her every hour, no matter what time of day. A new kid named Ryan moved from Vietnam and was shy, but friendly and funny once you got to know him. He started to hang out with Charlie, Chase, Ben, and Noah. It was cool listening to his immigration stories about his multiple schools. He said he already like Peirce. But Pierce to Charlie was another problem. The bullies kept getting worse. No matter what they did, they wouldn't stop. It got to one point where Max and Jim teamed up to torment E. Charlie told them to stop, he told teachers, he even told his parents! And nothing happened. It just got worse and worse. And to make top it all off, Gabriel started ignoring Charlie. Ignoring him! For saving an innocent girl's life and taking care of her! Can you believe it?! But on the bright side, E started talking to Chase, Ben, and Noah. She started to get more comfortable with them and slowly started breaking out of her shell. She's still shy and afraid to start trusting people, but better than when Charlie met her. In other news, the school ball was coming up and Charlie had no one to go with. E and him were just friends and sure that she would turn him down if he asked. Clairey was his next choice. They've kind of been flirting since they met. So, no harm in him asking, right? Well... anyways, Charlie started to feel more comfortable talking to E. Which is great! Makes my life a whole lot easier. Let's hope it stays that way.
"Charlie! I'm here!" E shouted from the front of the dorm room. After work E would come to Charlie's dorm and after they were done doing whatever, Charlie would personally escort E back to her dorm. E's roommate was named Violet Schneider. A pretty, spunky, and fashion forward girl. She was kind to E and promised Charlie that nothing would happen to her. Which was nice since their dorms were a few halls away.
"In the bathroom!" his muffled voice shouted back. E set her things down and went to the bathroom to find Charlie applying a wet cloth on his left eye.
"What happened?" E gasped. She pulled the cloth away from his face revealing a blue and purple bruise.
"Just Max and Jim that's all," he replied sarcastically. E rolled her lovat eyes.
"What was it this time?" she asked. Charlie dreaded telling her this, but did it anyway.
"They asked why I threw all my life away for a girl I didn't even know," he mumbled to the ground. E started to pat his eye with the cloth gently.
"Did you fight back?" she asked. Charlie shook his head from side to side. E sighed. "What happened to Chase and Ben and Noah? I thought that they were your friends?"
"It was during class. They couldn't help," he explained. She continued to treat his eye in silence. "They worst part out that I have to go to dinner with my parents," he said.
"Easy, well have Violet fix it for you," E suggested. Charlie groaned. "What?" E tilted her head.
"I have to bring a date," he explained.
"You could ask Clairey?" she suggested.
"She's visiting her grandmother's," Charlie answered.
"Oh," E said. "What about me?" she said meekly.
"Yeah, okay." E's eyebrow raised.
"I was joking," she stated. Charlie looked up at her.
"I wasn't." E was stunned at what she was hearing.
"What about Gabriel?" she huffed.
"Axel and Penelope will be there to protect us. Besides, you don't have to act like my girlfriend, just a date. Nothing more," he said. They locked eyes for a few minutes.
"I hate you," E said. Charlie's eyes lit up.
"So you'll do it?" he asked, half already knowing the answer, half wanting to hear her say it.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be your date," she promised. Charlie jumped up from the counter.
"Perfect! Be ready at eight," he gave her a peck on the cheek and ran out to get ready. E stood there in confused. She touched her cheek where Charlie's lips had been moments before. Oh, no....
