Ellie's P.O.V

The pack meeting was already in full swing by the time Jacob and I walked in. No one made a comment on our tardiness, which I was thankful for. Everyone in the room was too focused on the urgency of the situation to care about anything else.

"Double the patrols, double the security, and double the training schedule," Alpha Brian's voice rang out, sharp and to the point. His eyes scanned the room, making sure everyone understood the importance of his orders. "We can't afford to be caught off guard again. We need to be ready for any attack—whether it's tonight or in a week."

The pack leaders nodded in agreement, the weight of the situation sinking in. Alpha Brian's leadership was strong and clear.

"Ted, Ellie," he turned to us, his tone shifting slightly. "I need you two to test the warriors' abilities and separate them into more specialized groups. We can't risk any weak links. The rogues could strike at any moment, and we need them sharp."

Uncle Ted didn't hesitate. "We're on it, Alpha Brian. We'll get it done."

I nodded firmly. "We'll get to work immediately, Alpha Brian."

Then Alpha Brian shifted his focus to Steven, the Beta, and his son, Christian. "Steven, I need you to start reaching out to our allies. We'll need backup if things go south. Carl, prepare the safe house. We need a backup plan in case we have to move pack members fast."

Carl gave a quick nod. "Got it, Alpha Brian."

The room was heavy with the sound of agreement, each pack member knowing their role in the coming storm. But just as the meeting seemed to be winding down, Jacob spoke up, his voice slightly hesitant.

"Maybe we should wait a bit before starting? Ellie did come in late this morning, and she's probably tired after all that training," he suggested, his eyes flickering toward me.

I shot him a look, not wanting to make a big deal of it. "I'm fine, Jacob. I've got this."

Alpha Brian, who had been scanning the room, turned to me then. "Are you sure, Ellie? We can give you some time."

I gave him a respectful nod. "I'm sure, Alpha Brian. We don't have the luxury of time."

Jacob, still not convinced, lowered his voice so only I could hear him. 'Ellie, I'm not saying you can't handle it. I just don't want you to overdo it. You've been through a lot today already. You need to rest at some point.'

I rolled my eyes slightly. 'I'll rest when the pack is safe, Jacob. Focus on your job here. I've got mine.'

His voice lingered in my mind, filled with the same concern. 'Just don't push yourself too hard.'

I could feel him staring at me, his eyes full of worry, but I ignored it. It was easier that way. "We'll get started right away, Alpha Brian. No worries," I said aloud, trying to shift the attention back to the meeting.

"Alright then," Alpha Brian said, turning his attention back to the rest of the pack. "Everyone, you've heard the orders. No one goes out alone, and the training starts now. We need to be ready for whatever comes next."

I was about to leave the meeting room and head toward the training field when Jacob spoke again, this time with a serious tone.

"Alpha Brian," he said, his voice heavy with uncertainty, "we need to talk about the rogue leader—the one who attacked us last night. I know who he is."

The entire room went silent, eyes now trained on Jacob. I felt a shift in the air as everyone's attention honed in on him.

Alpha Brian raised an eyebrow. "You know him?"
