It was bright, too bright to be real. And the colors she'd never seen anything like it. Rich dark green covered nearly every surface, from the green were violent displays of color. Flowers of every shape and color adorned them. They were exotic, there was no other word.
She looked to her left and saw a path it had been made of our green moss that looked soft enough to sleep on. She hesitantly stepped on the path swearing that it wasn't there before. The moss was cool and damp beneath her bare feet. As she walked slowly in her silk night gown, she didn't trust the place it was too beautiful, too exotic. almost like it was luring her as a trap.
She then decided that following the moss path was the best decision. With every step she couldn't help but feel as if she were being watched, and not by a single thing but by millions at a time. She saw movement on her right and her head spun, trying to catch it before it disappeared.
It was an absurdly large butterfly, roughly the size of a cat. Its color bright orange with blue pattern. Every beat of its wings sent a jolt of excitement through her. It seemed to hover in hair and watch her. And she held her breath as she took in its eyes.
They were shaped like a normal bugs eye, but it was the perception it held that made her breath hitch in surprise. It was as if the butterfly was peering into her soul. It cocked its head and drifted a little closer.
Then its attention snapped to something behind her, and with one mighty wing beat it was up and the air and out of site. The thought of something scaring a butterfly away, terrified her even more, so she refused to look what was behind her, even as the hairs on her arms and neck started to raise.
She forced herself to continue down the path. She didn't know how long she had been walking, until she came upon a yellow plant. In this place where green was the dominant color. The yellow plant was something new.
The plant had no leaves it was just pointy spikes that jutted out of the ground and weird angles, giving it a spiny tree look. The tips of the plant were dark, some shimmer others black with dot like objects on them.
She leaned in for a better look to find on the spikes were tiny insects that had been impaled on the tips, the shimmers were their wings that were stiffly stuck in awkward position. And the smell it was as if it was a scent of a billion rotted bodies had been shoved into the tips of the yellow spikes.
Wanting nothing more to burn it to the ground, she gagged and stumbled half ran from the plant.
Eventually she wandered even further until she came across a completely blue plant. It was a vine. It had leaves that were blue as well. It looked like there were a million ropes, that all collected in a one spot, the roots of the plant hidden deep within the forest floor.
The blue vine seemed to grow as one, it was evenly spread across plants bushes and a few trees in one perfect massive circle. The only place it was uneven was where the moss path started. The blue vines growth stopped a few inches before the edge as if it were a afraid to touch.
Another movement caught her eye. She watched as black bird swooped down from a neighboring tree. She saw another movement further down in the direction were the bird was headed. It was a strand of the blue vine. It lifted itself into the air. And swayed hypnotically back and forth. Each individual leave was moving in a shaking like motion.
The bird seemed hypnotized as it flew closer and closer, and the closer the bird got the more violent the vine's movement became. Until the bird was a hairs breath away. Everything happened in slow motion.
The vine went deathly still, and the bird instantly snapped out of its hypnotism. And in a split second the vine had itself wrapped around the birds neck. There was a sickening crack as the vine snapped the birds neck.
