I was woken by bright light beaming into my face. I was laying on my stomach and I felt compressed to the bed.
It was a body.
Jumping up out of the bed I looked at the one and only Cal.
"What are you doing!?"
"You're loud." He turned over away from the sun.
"Why were you laying in the bed with me Cal."
My heart jumped out of fear when I noticed he was side eyeing me. Testing me. "The floor was cold."
Shaking my head out of disbelief I grabbed my cloak off the floor and hid my dagger in it.
When I turned around he was right behind me. "What was that." He was staring right at the cloak on my body like he was trying to see through it.
"Nothing." He backed off and walked out the room.
I let out a soft sigh. Good thing he's nice I guess. "I'm going into town to get things, you're welcome to stay here until I come back."
I was going to say no I wanted to come, but I got the feeling he didn't want me to come. So I stayed. "Ok." I watched as he threw on a shirt and grabbed a bag and left.
The only thing I could do is sit around or explore.
"First let's go check on...." Speaking to myself I was still trying to find a name for the horse.
Walking to the where I left my horse I noticed some things about this place that I couldn't really notice last night.
Were he lived was almost very excluded. He seemed to be the type to mind his business but, he also seem to have something going on.
"I got to give you a name soon." I gave my horse a apple and sat there while he? She? It? Ate.
I was picking the weeds in the ground bored. Then I go the idea. "Maybe I should practice. you know there's nobody around."
The horse just looked at me and I took it as a yes of course.
Getting up I went behind the little house and took my cloak off. I didn't have a sword only a dagger. So I practiced with that.
I had the dagger in one hand and put up a defensive stance. I imagined guards standing all around me in a circle. I was at an disadvantage.
They all had swords and here I stood with only one dagger.
Then they came at me one by one.
One swung the sword down and I moved to the left to dodge it. He was wide open. Using my left leg I kicked him in the side of his head.
The next person ran at me and I threw the dagger at him. I missed. Or did I? I purposely hit the tree giving me an opening to disarm him.
I kept "fighting" until sundown.
Finished I watched as the sun went down. The open area gave me a good view of the sunrise. As I was watching it I was comparing it to my life. As the sun went up It was providing light making everyone else happy. Even though no one thought about me or my feelings.
Then when the sun goes down it's like me unwinding from a long day. My thinking went on for a while until I noticed my own stench.
"Geez I need a shower."
I went to the shower outside and lit the lanterns on the outside of it. Turning the water on I waited for it to get hot. Making sure no one was around I proceeded to take my clothes off.
