I finished my day pulling out what seemed like vials onto shelves. That was interesting. On the other hand, I was overwhelmed by the number of shelves adorning the classroom I've been studying in for the past months, I still remember how I almost dropped the boxes I was holding at the sight of those endless pieces of polished wood.
Gladly, it's in the past now.
So is the creep that have been stalking me, I presume.
My eyelids were getting heavy, as I rested my head on the cold stone wall. I really should go home now and eat some dinner, and feed Giggles. He's been in quite of rages these past weeks, and I wouldn't want to come back home to be confronted with a demolished couch and a barely there curtain. Especially the sheets. Those were the only piece of fabric that didn't cost me my monthly salary. Speaking of salary, I should get mine by the end of the week, that is if my boss won't find out the fact I was sneaking out of the store to buy snacks.
I crack my neck even further, letting my eyes drift to the open window above me. It's weird. I never noticed there was one before, just like I never noticed how many cloud there could be in the sky.
"Ironic, isn't it?" I said to no one in particular, smiling a bit before continuing " How I'm always the last. In everything. Like in maths, especially geometry, I mean what's the use of that? It's not like I'm intending on being an architect or something like that. Or that window that have been here for so long unnoticed, or is it just me?"
A deep chuckle stopped my rambling and I turned around to meet, yet again, the last person on earth that I'd like to be alone in a school. Noah Walker. A person, human being, that is too bizarre for words to describe.
"You know, talking to yourself is another sign of craziness, besides the fact you don't have a cellphone yet. You, a 17 year old".
"And you talking to me is also a sign of craziness, maybe a little bit on the higher side but that's okay, I guess. You are, after all, the most bizarre person I've ever known. And me not having a cellphone is completely normal...almost". I rolled my eyes at him, quoting my preceding thoughts.
"Whatever floats your boat, Ade", he smirked at me and raised an eyebrow...suggestively should I say?
That obnoxious git. That stalking creep. That little selfish prat who hadn't thought again about leaving me in the midst of working. I fell off the chair because of him!
"Speaking of which, why aren't you in some cardboard box with chicken, shipping off to a very, very far island with only the chicken and a coconut as company?"
It was his turn to roll his eyes "Simply because I'm not. Instead I was supposed to lock the school, so get up and get out".
I grunted, but got up anyways. My legs felt numb from all the sitting and my head was spinning for a dew moment so I grabbed the nearest chair and held onto it. My free hand went to the mess called my hair, and massaged my head from the throbbing pain at the back of it.
"Something wrong, Ade?"
Again with that nickname. I remember now, only my parents used to call me that. I smiled bitterly at the thought, used to. It's over now and I didn't think anyone would call me that ever again. Well until he came along. Speaking of which, I still haven't answered him.
"Yeah, I'm just a little numb from the sitting. I'll be right there".
OK, now I did. Glad that task's finished. Now onto the second one - the last actually - which is much harder.
