"i got your text," taeil sighed, waving his phone in the air as he reached the side of the ice rink.
johnny grinned and skated over, powerful yet graceful on the ice. he stopped next to taeil, leaning an arm on the railing. "i knew you'd come if i asked," he chuckled.
"how did you even get my-" taeil cut off the end of his own question. "it was yuta, wasn't it."
johnny shrugged sheepishly. "i needed to see you before the weekend, so i asked him for your number," he explained.
"what - and he just gave it to you?" taeil spluttered in disbelief.
johnny scratched at the nape of his neck and glanced over to where yuta was skating deftly across the ice, skimming the puck along at a dangerous speed towards the goal. "i kinda told him it was for a math assignment," he admitted.
taeil glared at him.
"which it kinda is!" johnny objected in his own defence. "i'm teaching you a mathematical equation, right? you, plus lee taeyong, plus your bed equals...?" he smirked at taeil suggestively, which earned him a slap to the arm.
"shut up," taeil huffed, looking out moodily at the ice, "i don't think you get it, johnny. i want more than just..."
"sex?" johnny finished, "don't have to be scared of the word, moony."
"seriously, shut up!" taeil said again, feeling his cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "can you at least pretend you're still helping me?"
"hey, hey, calm down," johnny laughed, "i'm just kidding with you. anyway, you wanna know the reason i called you over?"
taeil rested his chin on the cold railing and pouted. "yeah, would be nice."
johnny narrowed his eyes. "are you mad at me, by the way?"
taeil shrugged. "no," he answered.
johnny seemed convinced and within seconds he was grinning again. "okay, so this weekend i have some homework for you!"
"alright, i'm off."
"wait!" johnny caught taeil's hand as he tried to scramble away. "it's not a big homework, promise."
taeil rolled his eyes and turned back to the boy on the ice. "that's what all teachers say," he grumbled, "and then they set you a four thousand word essay to write overnight."
"so i'm your teacher?" johnny smirked.
"no-"
"no, senpai is a better word," johnny interrupted, continuing to tease the shorter boy.
"let go of me!"
"or how about... d-"
"don't," taeil said firmly.
johnny pulled a disappointed expression. "but daddy johnny should be my new identity!" he complained.
"tell me what the homework is or i'm leaving," taeil warned, gritting his teeth in annoyance.
"have fun with that," johnny laughed, his hand engulfing taeil's and keeping him fixed to the spot.
taeil would've given him a hard smack, but he was swayed by how tiny his hand felt in johnny's, and how little it made him feel in comparison to the hockey player. "just tell me then," he mumbled. "can you at least let go?"
"no way, you might run off before i set your homework," johnny refused. "okay, so this weekend, you need to watch at least one romantic movie to pick up some skills."
