Despite what some may believe after hearing the story, Aro had not entirely destroyed the Volturi that day.

Caius was filled with anger and resentment, while Marcus was devastated. They were both slowly recovering from all that had happened.

However, it was not so simple as to disband the Volturi. Caius knew that if the Volturi looked any weaker, someone else could come in and take over, and then what? So, they had to present a united front, whether they wanted to or not.

They had all lost something that day, and they all silently acknowledged it. However, they resigned themselves to their fate as the Volturi leaders, knowing they had a responsibility to the world, one they couldn't simply abandon.

No matter how many years went by, Caius knew he would never be the same. He knew what pain was now, and after feeling, he could never go back to being his old self again. He had learned there was another life out there, one he could have had but could never truly have now.

Athenodora, Amara, and Amalia. They were three As which would haunt him forever.
