Katsuki sat in his usual spot; at the back of the class where he made sure no one could annoy him. His tactic had proven successful for many years...until The New Kid came along. There hadn't been a new face at UA in over 4 years so, naturally, The New Kid was the talk of the school.
No one knew for certain which class he was going to be in, so Katsuki prayed that it wasn't his class because the only remaining seat was right next to him.
But of course, the universe was never on his side.

"Bakugou, put your hand down." Aizawa-sensai told him, sternly; for he had raised his middle finger skyward in an attempt to convey his displeasure to the universe's decision when Aizawa-sensai had informed the class of their new classmate.
Scowling and, thankfully, receeding his hand, he grumbled a "fuck off, old man" as Aizawa-sensai continued his lecture.
"Now, as you all know, UA has received a new student and he will be joining our class, so please, be nice."
As if on cue, The New Kid came stumbling through the door; clumsily cradling books and papers in his hand.
"I'm so sorry I'm late, my alarm clock was set wrong and my mom woke up late and there was this squirrel - "
He kept rambling on but Katsuki couldn't hear a thing as his eyes took in the sight before him.
The boy was stunning.
His fluffy, green hair fell over his eyes ever so slightly, giving it that messy look that Katsuki was enjoying a bit too much. His freckled cheeks were dusted over with a faint blush and his soft, pink lips moved animatly as he continued to speak.
But the feature that Katsuki was most drawn to was his eyes. He had never seen anything like them before. They were a deep, never-ending pool of emerald green which held so many wonders that Katsuki felt as if he were drowning in them.
It was only when those wonderful eyes fell upon him that he snapped out of his trance.
" - so you'll be sitting next to Bakugou."Shit.
He schooled his features so that he wore his usual scowl and glare. The New Kid audibly gulped and glanced at the floor.
Good. He won't have to endure his curious gaze.
"But first, would you please like to introduce yourself"
At this statement, The New Kid's eyes snapped back up and he took a nervous glance around the class; as if just realising that they were there.
So he's a shy one.
"U-um, well, my name is Midoriya Izuku. I live with my mom and stepdad. And I-I like creating and writing about s-super heroes." The Ne- Izuku, stuttered; eyes glued back onto the floor.
"Thank you for sharing. Please, take a seat."
Those wonderful eyes were on Katsuki again, but he made sure to avoid his stare as he approached. The desk, the walls, the ceiling; he looked at anything but his face.
The chair next to him scraped against the floor-boards as it was pulled out and Izuku sat down.
"Hi" Izuku whispered awkwardly, "I'm Izuku - "
"I know, my memory works just fucking fine." Katsuki replied, eyes still trained on his oh-so-interesting desk.
"O-oh, yeah. Well, u-um what's your name?"
"Doesn't matter"
"Oh, O-ok"
With that, their conversation abruptly ended leaving Katsuki in regret. They sat in their awkward silence and listened to the teacher.
