As soon as he was distracted, I slipped my wrist from his grip then kicked him away. He hit the wall hard then stared up at me with a dazed expression. What am I doing? I'm supposed to be taking care of him, he's important to Akura-ou. Plus he needs to be well enough so that we can leave this village. B-but he just tried to-! I-I can't deal with this. I have to leave. "I-I'm sorry. I-I have to go" I jumped out the window then assumed my wolf form. I had to get away from here. I had to get away from him. Why did I save him in the first place? Why did I visit him? Why the heck am I crying?!
The tears wouldn't stop as I ran back to the only place where I felt safe. The tree. My tree. Riku. As soon as I saw it, I jumped into it's welcoming embrace and cried my heart out. I didn't know why exactly I was crying but I just let it all out until I was calm enough to stop. By then, I must've fallen asleep.

Damn that woman! Who knew she could kick so hard? How could I even think that she was any more than a violent mutt. I feel so deceived and stupid. I thought to myself as I wandered through the forest. I left that human infested house the same night she never came back. I was already healed so I saw no reason for me to stay. Why did she kick me away? Was it because of what I did? Did I spook her? I felt a sting of guild in my chest and I knew what I had to do. Even though I hated it, I knew it was my fault and I knew I had to apologise. The question is, how?

I heard whimpering from the bottom of my tree and I took it as a sign for me to wake up. It was already morning but I still felt exhausted. I wiped the sleep off of my eyes then opened them to see the young wolf running around frantically. He was trying to tell me something. "What is it, young one?" I asked, dropping from my tree to calm him down. "Someone...here" he said and I heard a howl from the distance. Willow was calling for me. I ran to her as quick as I could and that's when I saw her, fully alert and growling at someone. A yokai, a fox yokai. Tomoe.
"It's okay Willow. Stand down" I waved her off and she nodded, giving us both privacy to chat. "What are you doing here, fox?" I said with a cold glare. "I...I came to apologise for my rude behaviour last night..." he said and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My ears twitched a couple of times, trying to register what it had just heard. The Tomoe, the most feared yokai in all of Japan, was apologising...to a woman, to me?
He said it so earnestly too. I just couldn't believe it. "S-say that again..." I mumbled, I was really having a hard time believeing what I was hearing. He smirked then walked closer to me, pinning me against a tree. "Is this your idea of fun? Do you like the sound of me apologising? Well then...I'd be happy to say it again. I apologise...for my rudeness last night but...you interest me and I just couldn't help myself. Especially since those lips of yours look absolutely delicious" he said alluringly, licking his lips. I felt my cheeks heat up slightly and a blush was crawling its way to my face but I fought against it, keeping my composure and staring blankly at him.
"You do realise what this kind of harassment has gotten you right?" he seemed to flinch as he remembered how hard I kicked him last night. He moved away from me but he quickly regained his composure and his smirk. "Even so...heed my words Lady Okari. I will make you mine and nobody else's and I will make you fall in love with me" he openly declared. I had to admit, being called Lady Okari again made my heart flutter but I had to quickly force it down. This fox must be toying with me. Foxes are deceitful creatures, not so easily trustworthy. He must be planning something. "Whatever..." I huffed then turned around.
He tried to follow me but once he stepped on the borderline, Willow immediately ran to my side and started growling at him. He jumped back a little and it made me chuckle. "See you around, fox~" I chuckled then I walked deeper into my territory.

Night fell and I was back to the Inn. The tanuki girls welcomed me with warm smiles as they tried to escort me inside. "Welcome back Lady Okari~" they said, "I'm sorry girls but not today. I've had a long day and I need a drink" they whined but they eventually nodded. I walked next door to a bar and was greeted by the owner. An old Bakeneko yokai and a friend of mine. "Ah...Lady Okari, Welcome back. Care to have a drink with this old man?" he offered, passing me a cup of sake. "Thank you for the offer. As a matter of fact, I would love to have a drink with you" I sat with him and accepted his cup of sake.
"What brings you here tonight?" he asked, trying to start a conversation. "Well...I figured it was about time that I leave home for a while. It gets pretty boring there" I chuckled as I drank more sake. "I see you have someone new in your life" he said and I almost choked on the sake until I realised that he was talking about the stray. "Yes...I found him wandering the woods with arrows sticking out of his back" he sighed when he heard this and he shook his head. "These humans have become rather troublesome and they're slowly growing in power. Just the other day, I heard that a whole group of Oni had been eliminated. Although they were rather weak, the Oni still outnumbered them but they were no match for the humans. They say that the humans have a new secret weapon given to them by the gods. You know, I remember when I was a young neko-" the old man began to tell stories of when he was young and how humans feared even the mention of a yokai.
"You know...you youngin are our only hope. You and that...oh what's his name again? Abu- no...Akira...Aku-"
"You mean Akura-ou?"
"Yeah! Him and his brother Tomoe, you three are the fiercest yokai in all of Japan. You are the White Lotus, the yokai who's famous for her extraordinary beauty and fierce appetite for battle. You lure people in then snuff them out in the blink of an ey- umph!" I covered his mouth before he got a chance to finish his rambling. "Please refrain from talking about that here. I'm trying to lay low" I whispered to him and he nodded with a closed eyed smile.

Where the hell did that woman run off to? I wondered as I walked through the forest, taking care to make sure I don't step into her territory. I'd rather not deal with that grey mutt of hers. I finally found myself at the red light district for some odd reason. I decided to grab a drink myself so I went to the bar next door. When I entered I never expected to see what I just saw. It was her. She was here...and she was drinking with some old bakeneko. She was completely drunk. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were glazed over. She was laughing with the old bakeneko while she drank more sake. I felt a tick mark grow on my forehead.
Something was bubbling inside me as I watched her drink with someone other than me. It irritated me. I stomped towards her with a cold stare and as I got closer, I could hear her velvety voice while she hiccuped. "Hahaha...and he said 'you are not going anywhere' so I kicked him to the wall! It was freaking hilarious *hic*" she joked and I got even more irritated. I grabbed her and carried her bridal style outside the bar against her will. "No! You stupid fox! Let me go! Where are you taking me? I just need one more *hic* drink..." she whispered the last part then I heard her snoring lightly. My heart began to beat quickly as I stared at her beautiful face. My heart felt warm and it wasn't just about making her mine anymore. I wanted her to trully love me as much as I loved her. Okari...How can you sleep so soundly? Are you finally warming up to me?
