*Knock Knock Knock* "Goodmorning Lady Okari, it's Yumi with your wake up call as requested" I groaned as I woke up and left my futon to answer the door. "*Yawn* Goodmorning Yumi...thank you for accepting my request last night even if it was unreasonable" I said while the tanuki girl just smiled at me and nodded then left. I changed into my white kimono with red hemming and black rose designs, wearing it the way I wanted to. I'll have to admit, it's not the conventional way of wearing a kimono because I usually wear it off shoulder but not many people seem to mind although, I do get alot of stares but I don't mind. I grabbed Riku's sword and made sure that it was securely around my waist then left the room. A hundred years had already passed since Riku's death and I guess I had already gotten over it but it did change me.

It opened my eyes to reality, how harsh real life actually was. To this day I still carry around his sword so I wouldn't forget him, in a way, whenever I carry his sword around it's like he's protecting me. "Leaving so soon Lady Okari?" the tanuki girl at the front asked and I nodded at her. "It's back to wandering for me but I promise I'll come back soon" the other tanuki girls walked to the front and whined about me leaving too soon while they said their goodbyes. I waved back at them as I left the inn, hiding my ears and tail to appear more human as I usually travel during mornings. Walking around during the day didn't bother me much although, the lustful stares from the human males always made my blood boil, it didn't help that I could see through to their eyes and knew what they were thinking.

I didn't like overstaying my welcome anywhere, even if they were happy to accomodate another customer so I usually stay for one night then just return when I absolutely have to. I entered the dense forest where I usually resided then rested on the giant sakura tree right in the middle of it all, my ears and tail appearing again. I found this land fifty years ago and I made it my home and protected it from humans or yokai who would dare to take it away from me. It made me happy and helped me through grieving. I buried my greatest treasure here and it sprouted this giant sakura tree and I made it my resting place. It was above ground and it sheltered me from the rain and the dense coverage of the trees made it well hidden.

I whistled then a few moments later, I heard barking and howling in the distance. There were others that helped me monitor and protect my new home. As soon as I killed my first trespasser, I had developed a habit of taking in strays. I had taken in countless stray dogs and wolves and they were happy to help me with my problems. I take care of them as if they were my own children and they consider me as someone they trust, sort of like a mother figure. One of the packs of canines approached my tree with an injured stray, it looked like a fairly young male wolf and he had several arrows sticking out of his black fur. I growled then jumped down to them and carefully ran my hands over his wounds. He looked like he was in pain and his life was slipping over the edge to his death.

The others looked worried for the stray but I was furious. The arrows were from humans, I had seen too many battles and encountered too many of them to recognise their weapons. He was breathing heavily then his hazel eyes met with mine and I could see the fear in them and his thirst for revenge. I would have to ask him later about that but right now, I had to tend to his wounds. "Brace yourself, this will hurt, alot" I whispered to him and he nodded his head. I took the first arrow out of him and he yelped in pain. "I'm sorry but I'll have to pull every single arrow out by hand" I whispered calming words to him as I painstakingly removed the arrows. The other packs were now surrounding us, patiently waiting for their new comrade to get better.

Once all of the arrows were gone and swept away in a pile, I asked one of the dogs to sniff out some medicinal herbs and take them back to me and I asked a wolf to look for scrap pieces of cloth to cover his wounds. When they had returned with the materials I asked them to gather, I proceeded to tend to his wounds, covering them with the mixture of medicinal herbs I made then encasing them with the cloth to make sure they didn't get infected. When I was finally done, it had started to become nightfall, which meant that the packs had to return to their posts on every side of our territory to guard it. Some of my dogs had to leave again, they served as my spies and they keep me updated on what's happening around me.
