✳chapter 3✳
Sabrina's POV
My sister and I just returned from school. Our school was a government owned institution. I never liked my school that much because of all the social vices going on; rape, harassment, bribery and corruption, insecurity, bully, etc. But the teaching standard was good.
Recently I'm conducting a peaceful demonstration protesting against female sexual harassment. I have gain the public eye so much that even outsiders are interested in this social activity. I'm not really a social activist but I'm interested in it because of the ongoing social ills.
I'm studying business administration. In few years time,I'm out of university,my twin is studying law. Cool.
Our home is a big bungalow. We're more like an extended family but not everyone lives here.
We're greeted by granny who is sitting outside the couch reading newspapers and sipping on her green tea.
"Good afternoon granny",we greeted.
"Oh my dear girls, how are you doing? ",her voice was croaky due to old age.
" We're fine granny. Just tired ",Katrina said.
"Oh my dear, go and rest. There must have been long lectures today. Am I right? ",asks granny.
" Yes granny. How are you too? ",I asked.
"My dear, I'm having poor eyesight by the day. The doctor advised me to sip this green tea again" ,granny complained.
"Sorry Grandma" , Katrina said.
"Thanks Kate", Grandma let out a smile.
"Grandma don't you worry, your eyes will be alright, okay?" ,I assured her.
"Thank you Sabrie", said granny.
"You're always welcomed" ,I said.
Katrina rolled her eyes. Naturally she's not emotional. She's just herself but when you need help she's there. She's the best sister in the world to me.
"How's the protest going?" ,Grandma asked just as we were about entering the house.
"Oh that! It's progressing but recently we've been asked to shut it down as it's motivating the interest of the FUTE nongovernmental organizations causing some investigations in the school. Few rapists, thugs, and hooligans have been caught and are now in the police custody" ,Katrina replied.
"Very good" , Grandma clapped her hands gleefully. "Next time they'll not cause havoc in school again. She laughed.
Katrina and I exchanged weird looks.
" Yeah", I mumbled.
"You know what,kids?" Grandma asked.
Katrina furrowed her eyebrows. She was always tired of hearing grandma call us "kids". We're twenty for goodness sake!
" What? ",I responded.
" I'm so proud of you girls. Keep up the good work. Alright? ", Grandma appreciated.
" No need for that",Katrina rolled her eyes and drags me inside. She knows that granny can ask questions for the whole England if we don't enter the house now.
We could hear grandma shouting oh Kate! You shouldn't walk out of me that way. I even wondered if you're really my girl! Children of nowadays, very disrespectful! Ugh!
We entered house and exhaled deeply. Finally we're out of her sight. No more questions, all thanks to Katrina.
"But we walked away, that's so bad", I put it to Katrina.
