"Hell yeah, Simone! Hold that pose," the photographer directed. She smiled before adjusting her posture on the cream chair.
Simone couldn't have been happier. She had a great career ahead of her, an extravagant lifestyle, and not to mention a mighty fine, and loyal boyfriend, who acted in an award winning TV sitcom. Lastly, she had a spot on the Off White Tour, meaning three whole months of exposing her talents to potential fans.
Simone was highly grateful of the position she held. She was able to buy her mom the new Range Rover that she'd been dying for. She attended interviews left and right, and she was praised by numerous artists, The Carters for example. The only thing she was missing was her best friend Jonni.
Simone hadn't physically seen Jonni in months due to the newly adjusted lifestyle. The schedule only allowed them to FaceTime and they barely lasted for ten minutes before Simone was in someone else's hands. Yeah, she met some celebrity acquaintances, but none of them could deliver the advice, or support her at her lows like Jonni could.
Jonni, was a bartender at a local nightclub for the time being. However, she aspired to be a professional photographer. She took plenty of quality pictures of her friend and posted them on Instagram under the handle, JonniCam. She gained a good amount of following and comments about her glorious works.
After the photo shoot was over, Simone had to go back to the hotel to pack up and finally head back to her apartment in Los Angeles to pack her things for the tour.
As she gets in the limo a FaceTime call from Jonni pops up on her phone. She slides her finger to the right, accepting the call.
"Hey, bitch!" Jonni greeted, dragging her words. Simone smiled before greeting her back.
"How was the photo shoot?" Jonni asked as she sat down on her sofa. "Skywalker," by Miguel, played in the background.
"It was good Jay, I'll send you some of the proofs later," Simone answered.
"Okay so what you gotta do now? You do gotta pack for the tour, right?"
"Yeah I do."
Simone's mind then popped up with a possible idea.
"And so do you!" She beamed.
"Now how is that gonna work, Simone?" Jonni questioned with a face of disbelief. Out of their fifteen years of being friends, she always used her full name when she was serious about something.
"I'll just ask Selena. I'm sure she won't mind," Simone reassured, even though she was not sure what her manager, Selena, would even say.
"Well hurry up and ask her. You only got two days before y'all leave," Jonni directed before hanging up.
Simone sighed before finding the contact for Selena, but before she could call her, she was at the hotel.
She hurried and slipped on her cropped Nike hoodie over her head. She walked to the hotel door and headed to her floor before someone could recognize her. She went into her room and finally called Selena, putting her on speaker so she could pack. Her flight left in two hours.
"Wassup Simone," Selena said.
"Nothing much. I'm packing now," Simone said, grabbing some of her clothes and folding them in her suitcase. She then hurriedly checked through the bathroom.
"Well you better get a move on, how was the photo shoot?" Selena questioned as Simone took her toiletries and makeup and put them in her small travel bag.
"It's was great, and since I did so well I need you to do me a favor," Simone smiled as she sat on her suitcase, facing her phone. Selena rolled her eyes on the other end.
"How come I knew you was gonna do some shit like this," Selena said. "Alright, what is it?"
"Jonni."
"Your best friend?"
"Yeah."
"What about her?"
"Can she come on the tour with me?" Simone rushed.
"Simone you do know, that's an extra person we gotta feed, and possibly clothe for free?" Selena asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Look look, if you add her in, I promise you a whole album, and anything else you want me to do!" Simone whined.
Selena laughs, "You want her to come that bad?"
Simone nods her head up and down immediately, resembling a small child. Selena laughs before shaking her head.
"We were under our budget anyways, she can go. Make sure she's at your house by at least four tomorrow."
Simone smiled from ear to ear, "Thank you, Selena."
She headed to her phone and discussed more things with Selena before hanging up, and calling Jonni back.
"Pack your shit, you coming with me."
Jonni smiles and rushes to her closet. She grabs her suitcases out, and then heads back to the phone.
"Say no more. I'll be at your house at nine," she says before hanging up.
Simone smiles and throws her phone on the bed before zipping up her suitcase. She did a last minute check before heading out and heading to the airport.
Around 9:30, Jonni knocked on the door. Simone happily answered and gave her best friend a long hug.
Jonni took off her orange cropped hoodie and placed it on Simone's love seat across from the TV. Simone turned on Netflix and Jonni grabbed the Golden Oreos, and Sour Cream and Onion Lays from the pantry. This was their past time: good movies, snacks, and what was a good duo without the tea of course.
"So about this tour? Who's all coming?" Jonni questioned. Simone grabbed the flyer from her coffee table and passed it to Jonni. Jonni then looked over the flyer.
"Ooh Ella Mai on here, we bout to be Boo'd Up!" Jonni joked as she looked over the rest.
"Ooh, it's Ski Mask, and there go X. I'm like bitch who is ya mans, can't keep my dick in my pants!" Jonni broke into song, making Simone laugh. "Aye, you need to hook me up with Ski tho, that nigga fine, no cap."
"I'll see what I can do," Simone giggled as she looked over the names again. As she looked over she received a message from her boyfriend, Devonte.
He was texting to see how her day and photoshoot went. He also apologized for not communicating with her the whole day, as he had a preview for his hit sitcom. This was the only true boyfriend Simone had. He cared and spoiled her when he was and wasn't acting, sending her money to go shopping and a bouquet of roses and sunflowers when he couldn't be there physically. When he was there, he was everything Simone could want.
Jonni, on the other hand, was skeptical about Devonte. She wanted to be happy for he best friend, but her best friend intuition kept kicking in. Usually, when Jonni pointed something out that Simone wasn't seeing, she ends up being right. She didn't see anything wrong with him, but her eyes were on the lookout. The last time someone hurt her best friend, she ended up slashing his tires, putting sugar in his engine, and breaking his car windows.
"Girl, have you even packed yet? You must've forgot that we do leave tomorrow afternoon?" Jonni questioned as Simone snapped her out of her thoughts.
She went to her closet and started packing and talking to Jonni about the benefits of the tour.
And by the looks of it, they're going to have a good ass time.
