Partners In Crime | Zelink

Prologue

"Link!" The sound of that soft voice was music to my ears. On this night though, it made me scared for what was coming. "Link I can't run anymore." The rain coming down and out feet clashing with the puddled grounds made it difficult to hear her clearly.

My hand gripped hers as tightly as I could. "You can't quit now, Zelda, we're almost there!" We both ran as fast as we could, both of our opposite hands holding something more valuable than both of our lives.

We turned a corner, almost escaping into the woods, before we were surrounded. Knights of the castle holding swords to our throats. "Link and Zelda," the lead knight, whose name I didn't care to remember, said smugly, "fancy seeing you two here. I heard that you two were one of the most wanted criminals in all of Hyrule."

Zelda was protecting the loot in front of her as she hugged up against me. My sword was out as if I was actually threatening in this situation. "Not caught up with the media are we?"

The knight took out his sword and pointed it to my neck. "Give me one good reason why your head shouldn't be sliced off of your neck right now."

I chuckled. "You don't have the balls." The knight glared at us for at least a good 40 seconds before I nudged forward, putting the tip of the blade to my neck. He grunted and lowered his sword and put it back in its sheath.

"Tie these two up and drag them to the castle. The King can decide what to do with them." The other knights replied with a loud "Yes sir." Zelda and I were tied up and tied to horses.

"Link," Zelda whispered, "this is part of the plan right?"

"Of course it is," I answered. "Don't you worry, love. Just sit there and look pretty."

"Link and Zelda," the booming of the king's voice echoed loudly through the sanctum, "for your countless crimes against the kingdom of Hyrule," the king looked at the both of us with anger and disappointment. He shook his head, "I sentence you both to-"

"THAT'S great and all your majesty, but I'm going to have to stop you right there."

"I'm sorry?" the king asked. I looked around at the crowd that surrounded Zelda and I.

"But we must be going. We have somewhere to be." The knights laughed at my comment. "They should be here any second now." A fist suddenly came in contact with my face, making my mouth spill blood.

"Link!" Zelda cried. "You son of a bitch!"

"Shut it girl!"

The room got quiet as the ground started shaking. "What the hell is that?" One of the knights exclaimed. I lifted my head and glared at the king. "That's my ride."

The walls of the sanctum crumbled as a giant boulder-like creature came barreling through the rubble. "Link quit acting helpless and let's get out of here!"

I snapped the rope around my wrists and hurried to untie Zelda. "Zelda get to Mipha, Daruk, Urbosa take out the guards, Sidon where is the prize?"

"Locked away tight, let's get out of here."

"Hold on a sec." As Zelda got past the ambush to Mipha, I stomped over to the bastard that punched my face. I took his helmet off and yanked him up by his hair. I punched his face countless times until I could barely recognize him. I exhaled sharply and looked around the sanctum; the king was gone and there were bodies littered across the room. I glanced at Sidon, Daruk and Urbosa. "Let's get out of here."
