Chapter 5: It finally happens

Skylar’s POV

 

“Yea okay, fine, but its almost dark! We should go ASAP.” I said looking at Demi with a smile.

“You know, you could save peoples lives with that smile, it’s gorgeous,” Demi said.

“Whatever you say,” I said while blushing profusely.

Demi and I gathered up my stuff and headed to the door. Demi stopped me, “can we take my car? I’m renting a really nice car, and it’s a full tank. Plus, I haven’t got to drive it much!” she said.

“Yea sure.” I said

Demi grabbed her keys and we got into the elevator and went to the parking level. When we got to Demi’s car, my mouthed dropped. Demi had rented a Sports style Jaguar with dark electric purple trim. It was every young adults dream.

 “Stop staring at my beauty, I’m thinking of buying her when I go back to the states next year.” Demi said proudly.

“Does ‘she’ have a name?” I said.

“How bout’ Sky?”

“Sounds pretty reasonable,” I said.

We got into the car and pulled out onto the street.

“Demi, I live in a suburb of Vancouver, so we are a good 30 minutes away,” I said hoping Demi wouldn’t mind.

“Yay!” was all Demi replied with.

“Yay?” I said,

“YEA YAY! Good music and more time with you is all a I could ask for!” Demi said sweetly.

“D’awe…Thanks Dems! Same...Haha” I said.

We sat in silence for a few moments while Demi concentrated on getting out of the main city. I told her where I live and where to go.

“Know any good radio stations?” asked Demi.

“Are you kidding? I can tell you every radio station based on genre! Try me!” I said.

“Rock?” she said.

I changed the station to 101.1 FM and said “anything other preferences?”

“I’m not in the mood for rock, lets just go with pop music for now!” Demi said.

I cringed at the word pop, but did what Demi requested.

“There is like 5 Pop channels, Pick a number between 1 and 5”

“2, haha,” she said.

I said in my best radio voice “You have chosen, The Beat 94.5”.
