[PILOT]

Elle was kind of dreading her first day at Seattle Grace after being transferred from a clinic in California. As of right now, she was sitting in the chief's office.

"Welcome to Seattle Grace, Dr. Garrett. Your reputation will not uphold here, so let me give you a fair warning, no jokes about patients, and please respect your peers. You're here to help make this ride, that is all, do you understand?" Chief Webber explained. "Gotcha chief." She salutes. Right now, she had to do something important, before coming back to work.

Elle was rushed into Seattle Grace Hospital, that she had been late to coming back. She then saw a familiar face, "Hey! Miranda Bailey! How's it going short stack?" She asked.

"Remember that one time, you rushed in here with tears in your eyes, because you got ran over by your car?" She asks, Elle nodding. "It was karma, for calling me short stack." Elle then sarcastically puts a hand on heart. "Aww, how sweet. Did you know, I was supposed to be helping you with your interns today.".

"What ever do you mean, lazy British person?" she asks, making the Brit chuckle, "Ha, funny nickname. I'm here because I acquired a bad reputation. I wasn't as serious as I was supposed to be, and I liked to cat call other female doctors with the guys, so..." she pauses.

"Don't tell Webber I was late, yeah?" She asked, making the older raise an eyebrow. "Ok, you can shadow me, I guess, because instead of enjoying the highlife, and the amazing beaches and sunset of Los Angeles, you decide to degrade people of your own gender." Bailey scolded. "I don't know what came over me, Mandy. My estrogen is strikingly low, my testosterone took over." She follows after Miranda who disappointedly sighs.

It was early, and Miranda and Elle were waiting for the interns. "Mandy, why is that interns are basically the annoying freshmen here?" Elle asked thinking about her earlier days as a resident, not too long ago.

She then looks to her left to see what seemed to be the interns walking up, when one spoke, "Hi! I'm Isobel Stevens, but everyone calls me 'Izzie'." Miranda then ignores her, and Elle snickers.

"I have five rules. Memorize them. Rule number one: don't bother sucking up. I already hate you, that's not gonna change. Trauma protocol, phone list, pagers, nurses will page you. You will answer every page at a run." Miranda says.

"A run!" Elle yells at the frantic interns. "That's rule number two. Your first shift starts now, and lasts 48 hours. You're interns, grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain. You run labs, write orders, work every second night until you drop and don't complain." She says before they stop at an on-call room.

"On-call rooms, attendings, including Dr. Garrett over here," she starts, as the Brit waves. "hog them. Sleep when you can, where you can, which brings me to rule number three. If I'm sleeping, don't wake me, unless your patient is actually dying. Rule number four: the dying patient better not be dead when I get there. Not only would you have killed someone, you would've woke me for no good reason. We clear?" Miranda asks looking around, when another intern raises her hand.

"Yes?" Bailey remarks. "You said five rules. That was only four." The girl says, making Elle face palm. "Rule number five, when I move, you move." She says as they run to the roof. "You want me to come with you guys?!" Elle asks as they run through the hall. "You're already with us!".
