I gasped when I saw the house. It wasn't even a house, more like a mansion. A statue stood atop it, looking down at me. The man got out of the drivers seat and opened my door. I thanked him and slipped out as he got my bag out of the trunk. I gazed up at the grand gates blocking me from the house with two columns shouldering either side of the gate. Self consciousness almost swallowed me whole as he gave me my suitcase and pressed a button on the outside security system. A security camera blinked awake and centered its lens on us. I could've sworn that I heard a grunt from the camera speaker, but I didn't mention anything. The gates opened and disappeared into the columns. The man began walking to the grand front door- excuse me, doors. I quietly followed him as he knocked on one of the doors and waited. Almost the moment he drew his hand away from the door, it opened to reveal a middle-aged, tall man with a professional-looking suit and a red and white striped tie. He looked extremely stern and emotionless as well. Was this what how the French behaved? But as soon as I gave a nervous wave hello, his face broke into a small smile. "Why, hello there, young madame. You just be Maya... Maya Stone. Yes." I smiled a teensy bit and nodded. "I'm Gabriel Agreste, fashion designer extraordinaire. I hope you find your stay... eventful," he continued. I half-smiled, since I didn't appreciate how he addressed me like this was a hotel. My blue hair whipped into my face as a strong breeze blew across the front courtyard. He seemed to suddenly regain his consciousness again and continued with welcoming us inside. Just as we got inside, the larger man sat my suitcase next to me and walked away, leaving us alone in the huge... living area? I wasn't even sure what it was. A grand staircase stood in the middle, leading to a second floor. On both sides of me, two rooms appeared to be there too. "Um, could you lead me to where I'm supposed to.. stay? Oh, and, uh, thanks for letting me stay here," I murmured, even though I could care less that I stayed in this massive abode. "Oh," he chuckled. "I don't do that." "Excuse me?" I followed. What was Gabriel talking about? "Nathalie!" He voice echoed throughout the mansion. A young-ish woman quickly walked down the stairs and half-ran towards us. "Yes, Mr. Agreste?" She asked. Gabriel narrowed his eyes, then said "Take her to her room. Make sure everything in there is clean as well and serve her lunch." Nathalie nodded and moved her red hair strand out of her eyes. She looked a little puffed, like she had been crying recently. I followed her up the stairs, just wanting to have alone time with myself. We turned right and I looked at all the rooms down the hall. Some were offices, some were bedrooms, some were studios- but one stood out. Orange seemed to be the theme, with matching couches and walls and little decorations here and there. Through the point I saw it, the room looked enormous. I shook my head and ran to catch up, but I ran into the assistant. Turns out my room was right next to it. I looked in, then walked in, and glory filled my eyes. It was the room I had never had. Fairy lights and a cozy looking bed stood almost against the far wall. On the other side was a white sofa with a matching loveseat in the corner. A flat screen TV was placed on a gorgeous wood stand just next to it. There was even a small loft- inside my room. This was clearly impossible. I was used to rich, but this was a whole new kind. I turned around to thank the woman, but she was gone and the pastel blue door was shut. My face fell slightly, but I didn't care. There was so much to explore inside my own space; I couldn't wait to look at everything.
A few hours later, I heard a door slam shut outside my room. I was busying myself with practicing my new dance (I hope I could find a class here), but clearly this was more important. I slowly changed into casual clothes again and crept out the door, which didn't even make any creaking sounds when I opened or closed it. I tried my best to keep my footsteps small as I reached the stairs railing. I glanced up to see what was going on, and there he was. I meant, the guy. Which was Gabriel's son. I had to connect the dots on how such an innocent being had come from that rat Gabriel. My face flushed with pink as I slowly stood up and tried to greet him. Nathalie and the guy who had escorted me were helping get his backpack off (like he couldn't have done that himself) and asking him questions. I suddenly thought on why his father wasn't the one doing that instead of his lousy servants. It was probably just a rushed day, I had thought. As soon as I put my weight into one of my feet on the step, it creaked. The step freaking creaked. All three of them looked up straight up at me, the servants half annoyed, but the boy seemed sympathetic. "Oh! Um, hi..." I lamely said. It was like a movie or something, which means that this couldn't turn out well. Surprisingly enough, the boys eyes lit up as soon as he saw me. At first I thought it was in a way that he maybe could have sort-of liked me way, but it was a different facial expression. It was almost like he relieved to have me here, almost like no one treated him kindly or something. I don't know why someone wouldn't, he looked nice enough. I assumed there was no choice but to continue walking down the steps, so I proceeded to do so.
