Berrykit looked up at Fernstar, standing on the high rock. The gentle gray leader addressed both her and Dawnkit.
"From this moment forward, until the day these kits revive their warrior names, they shall be known as Berrypaw and Dawnpaw." She yowled, bending down to touch the two new apprentices on the head with her nose. Berrypaw did a little hop, squealing.
"Head to your nests. Training will begin tomorrow at sunrise." Fernstar said, flicking her furry tail absentmindedly. Both Berrypaw and Dawnpaw dipped their heads, and retreated to the crowded apprentice's den.

The dark forest loomed all around Berrypaw. The trees and mist had become so familiar, she was surprised when a cat was sitting just by on of the tree trunks. Gray and brown, with cold yellow eyes that spoke of untold tales of bloodshed. Berrypaw recognized the tom from the elder's tale, the tale of Wolfstar's Rebellion.
The powerful warrior stood and strode to the ginger apprentice.
"Welcome." He rumbled, examing the she-cat subtly.
Berrypaw dipped her head. What an honour! She thought, enthralled to be in the presence of such a renowned dark forest warrior. "I have heard many things about you, young Berrypaw. Come, walk with me." He mewed, sweeping his large tail to indicate the apprentice. Berrypaw followed, listening to Wolfstar as he spoke.
"-showing great potential even from kithood. ForestClan will not allow you to reach your full potential. WolfClan, however, will. All you need to do is gather them." Berrypaw nodded enthusiastically.
"I already know how to hunt and fight, thanks to you guys!" She mewed, smiling slightly. "But being an apprentice sounds boring." Her smile fell as she continued. "I already know most of what they're gonna teach me." Berrypaw slouched slightly, ears drooping comically.
Wolfstar lifted her drooping head with his forepaw. "Then leave ForestClan. Its the best solution. WolfClan cares about skill and triumph over our enemies. You will become a renowned warrior. Or.. even leader." Wolfstar smiled reassuringly, brightening Berrypaw up in a matter of seconds. ,
"I will!" She said, her eyes shining and mind swimming with all of the possibility.
Berrypaw then felt something prod her in the side. She dipped her head to Wolfstar as she surrendered herself to be woken up. The last thing she saw of the dark forest was Wolfstar waving his tail at her, with other dark forest warriors congregating behind him.

The sun was barely over the mountains when Fernstar awoke the two apprentices. Dawnpaw was stretching, His black and white tabby coat was flattened and warm from sleep. Berrypaw's mind was still buzzing from her dream. Should I actually do it?
Her inquiries were cut short as Fernstar had led them to the training clearing, and started demonstrations of the hunting crouch.
All the while, Berrypaw stared into the woods, thinking of the dream again, and debating whether she should leave be chase Wolfstar asker her too. As if on cue by her thoughts, Wolfstar's faint shape shimmers beside her, setting a comforting ghostly tail on her shoulders.
"Don't be scared." He whispered, and shimmered out of existence.
Much to the shock of Dawnpaw and Fernstar, Berrypaw stood abruptly raked them with an icy glare, and ran.
