The three of us sat on chairs right outside the mayors office, waiting for him to call us in. The Mayor called us in, and then the called the General. And the Secretary. We sat on seats sorrow ding the oval table. The Mayor sat in front of us, with the General and Secretary to each side. The mayor first Exchanged the board with his companions. Ricky looked nervous, but that was regular, considering his father was the Secretary. but the three men exchanged a look of... was that gratitude. The Secretary took Ricky, with a satisfied face. The mayor looked directly at us, and spoke:

"As pleased as I am that you have discovered this, I must tell you the bad news."

I frowned, wondering what was gonna happen. But nothing could have prepared me for what was going to be said.

"As both of you are aware, Megan is living with you, Stacy." The mayor spoke with a grave tone. "Right after the free-time, your mother and father were found smuggling objects to rebel forces."

Oh my god. I already knew what this was. They were going to tell me that..

"I am unpleased to inform you their sentence will be carries out in an hour. But i made a different call."

What. That meant my parents were still alive!

" They will be exiled in an hour." Exiled! Better than dead, but, who would Megan and I stay with?

" I have noted your friendship with the Secretary's son. He spoke directly, like he was pleased with his option. "You will stay with them."

Whew. I was scared that i would end up with someone I didn't know. The mayor pardoned us, thanking us for discovering the Aviator armor. As we stepped outside, we saw the General's son, Robin. He was playing with Ricky, as their parents talked. We walked to Ricky, and he nodded. His dad had already told him. His dad signaled us to his car, and the three of us got in.
