Isabella stood to full attention as the year finally came where people from the new trainees were chosen for new squads. Since this year, a lot more deaths have happened. Following a few of Isabella's friends. But of course, she didn't seem to care. Although in private she cried her little heart out.

No matter how old Isabella got, she still acted the same way.  From the day she was 17, when the accident happened she acted the same way. Cold hearted, stone cold and mean. Just like Levi was, before he adopted Isabella. She took after Levi, even when she never saw him cold hearted and mean. It was like she is a carbon copy of Levi.

Although Isabella still had friends, her and Mikasa were extremely close. Isabella and Mikasa trained together, talked to each other and such. Although they didn't seem to get along at first, they grew to become as close as sisters. Isabella being an orphan, she considered Mikasa a sister since Mikasa was also a orphan. Not counting Eren as her brother.

"Listen up brats!" Levi yelled at the crowd of kinda scared children who were trained for three years to get into the survey corps. "When your name is called, you will go to the leader who is assigned to you! You take orders from that leader, and you better behave or you'll be beaten to a pulp!" Levi yelled more, and Isabella was the first to read off the names..

"Toby Greenford." Isabella yelled. A small and scrawny boy walked up to her. He stood beside her, in a line. "Izzy Greenford." A rather short girl, shorter then Toby walked up. "You two siblings?" Isabella asked. Izzy nodded, "He's my younger brother." Isabella nodded. "Akiko Ramada, and Hina Fujikawa." A hug was given once the girl, seeming to be Akiko's name was called. A tall boy gave her the hug, it seemed they were brother and sister. Hina and Akiko walked up, hand in hand. 

"That is all for Isabella's squad!" Levi called, and many other people started reading off names. It went by slowly, as people seemed to be scared of Levi and the others. Isabella's squad was silent, except for Hina and Akiko. They were shaking and hugging each other. Isabella turned to them, "Are you girls nervous?" She question, "Y-Yes ma'am. Me and Hina trained hard but.. never fought a real titan. We're scared." Akiko said, with a frown.

After a long while of names being called, Levi dismissed the new squads. Isabella led her new squad to where Isabella and Mikasa usually trained. "Alright brats!" Isabella yelled, as the children seemed to cower under the sound of her loud voice. "I'm your squad leader Isabella Haruki!" She said, "You will follow my orders and train as hard as you can." She paused. "Any questions?" there was silence, till Izzy raised her hand. "Yes, Izzy is it?" Isabella asked, and Izzy nodded. "My question is.. what happened to your arm ma'am?" Isabella stared at her, before yelling. "Any other questions?!" Izzy lowered her hand, and frowned.

Isabella had led a long day of training and hard labor as she pushed the small children to their limits. She didn't feel bad about it either, since Levi did this to her when she was younger. Even younger then these kids. She dismissed them after awhile and she walked towards the mess hall..

Isabella sat at the squad leader table. Mikasa and Armin sat there. Of course, no Eren. "Hey Bella." Mikasa said, with a smile. "Hello Mika." Isabella said back, with no smile. If Isabella turned her head, she could see her squad, staring at her. Toby staring at her intently. "Armin, Mikasa. Do any of you have a boy by the last name of Ramada in your squad?" Isabella question. "Oh! I do Isabella!" Armin said, "His name is Eito." Armin smiled a bit. "Ah, I have his sister in my squad. She's in pretty good shape." Isabella pointed out. 

Isabella sat in her room, re-wrapping her bandages around her nub of an arm. She sighed, brushing some dirt off her pants after getting done with her bandages. Mikasa sat behind Isabella, doing her hair and Armin sat in the corner reading a book like always. "You seemed stressed Bella. Is everything alright?" Mikasa asked, after braiding Isabella's hair nicely. "Yeah, just a kid on my squad asked what happened to my arm and I froze. Ended up ignoring the kid, poor thing look terrified of me." Isabella sighed. "I mean, you are pretty scary." Armin joked from the corner of the room, and Isabella shot him a glare. Armin making a peep noise and saying 'sorry' quietly. "Mmm, I have to agree with Armin Isabella. You are kinda scary. Even to me!" Mikasa said, with a small laugh. "Yeah.. I guess I am. I can't help it honestly, my dad is Captain Levi. A 5'3' scary ass man." Isabella said, with a slight giggle. "But Isabella, I remember hearing stories from Erwin that Levi was never mean or angry to you or in front of you for that matter. You couldn't have learned it from him." Armin said, getting up and sitting in front of Isabella who sat at the edge of her bed. "I think I got my anger from the only person who'd ever do such acts in front of me.." She said, pausing before speaking again. "I got it from my abusive father."

The next day, Isabella woke up. Mikasa curled up against her, in a slight cuddle. Armin also doing the same. She was in the middle of a 'cuddle sandwich' as Armin liked to call it. They stayed the night last night, as it got too late for them to sneak in the halls back to their own rooms. Isabella recalled the talks they had last night.. Talks about Eren, and how he's still locked up. Mikasa is upset over it, but understands why he's down there and doesn't try to fight it anymore after the first ten tries she tried. Armin was.. scared like always. Scared he'd turn titan down stairs in the basement and kill us all. Armin knew it wouldn't happen, since he was smarter then that, but it was a constant concern of many people now a days.

Isabella woke up her friends, and they quickly went to their rooms to get ready for the long day ahead of them. Isabella also doing the same as she brushed her blonde hair, thinking of the day plans and how she'd try not to scare the children too much. She calls them children, even though most of them are 15 and 16. Isabella considered most of the people who are younger then her 'children'. Though she is only 20, she still thinks that way.

Like clockwork to her now, she went to the mess hall for breakfast, got the weapons needed for training that day and walked to the spot where her squad meets to train. It was a warm up for a certain outing her and the squad was gonna do. 

She noticed Toby was staring at her, not just staring but he seemed to be.. 'Drooling?' Isabella thought and approached the small boy. "Toby? Are you okay, kid?" She asked, and Toby snapped out of his trance - like state. "Huh?! Yeah, yeah! I'm fine!" He laughed nervously. "Pay attention brat, and stop staring at me like I'm the only girl on the planet. I know you're trying to get images in your mind of what to maturbate on, but please keep focus on training." Isabella said, Toby's face turning bright red and the other squad members started to giggle.

The time came.. The time Isabella loved most, where she got to pick a squad member to fight in hand to hand combat. She chose Izzy to fight, since Izzy seemed to be good in hand to hand combat by the looks of things. She started off, dodging punches that came from Izzy. When things started to get physical, Toby jumped in. "Don't hurt her! She's my sister!" Toby threw a punch, which Isabella caught. "Toby! Don't talk back to your leader, brat!" Isabella yelled, and practically threw him like a rag doll, back to his spot in the single file line that was formed. Izzy said sorry, in the name of her brother and they continued to fight. Toby was staring daggers at Isabella as they fought. Isabella could tell that he was gonna be a big problem..
