A/N: Greenwich Village is officially the new name of the village class 1-A will be going to! And thank the shrimp because I made a spicier cover for the story. This story will be following Todoroki and Midoriya as they head for training at the village, and their beloved conNeCtioN to one another as the time flies by. I can't believe I'm just focusing on two people in a bus for a whole chapter.
Gay.
Just enjoy the story :).Todoroki had been sitting for hours on his bed, staring out the window at the night sky, searching for his own. It felt like it was just yesterday when his mother had come up to his bedroom and sat next to him, chuckling as he climbed into her lap. She had shown him where his own star was, and hers as well. They were practically intertwined together, for their connection was strong. And ever since his mother was sent to the mental facility rehabilitation center, their stars seemed to drift apart. Somehow, there was a star that appeared to have drawn nearer to his, as if they had shared things in common. It wasn't too close yet, but it was slowly getting there. Was it his mother's star? He shook his head at the thought. He had engraved his mother's star into his mind, therefore whenever he looked out, he saw a small dim light cascading down, knowing it was his mother's star. This was most certainly not her star. It was a star that belonged to someone else. And who that someone else was? Todoroki had absolutely no clue at all.
The sun dawned on a new day, and the buses were parked in the lot, waiting for the hoard of students to run in in an excited demeanor. And that was exactly what happened.
Class 1-A was a bustle of excitement as they clambered into the large vehicle that would take them all to the village. Iida was already conducting the class in his usual manner. "As class representative, I have to ensure that your safety while boarding the bus is ensured and locked in tight! Enter in one single file line and sit next to the person in front or behind you while in your single file line!" He said, his arms producing motions rapidly to prove his explanation. Mr. Aizawa saddled up the steps to the bus and sat in the first seat. "I don't care who sits with who," he said in his usual tone. "Just find a seat." At this call, the students jumped in full of energy and sat with either their friends or just meandering on their own, completely forgetting about whatever single file meant.Midoriya was bursting with excitement, his feet anxiously tapping the chair as he awaited for the bus to roll to a stop already at the village. His face was creased, though he had no idea he even was making that weird expression, and his palms were a bit sweaty from clamping together all the time. His nervousness wasn't because of their destination, no, he was indeed very pumped for this moment. His nervousness was all because he was sitting next to one particular person. The lone wolf.
Todoroki.
The green haired boy obviously wanted to say something, but couldn't for some reason. Todoroki watched the boy fidget around nervously and felt a bit of sympathy, for the boy had ended up next to him instead of Urarka and Iida. "You're a bit tense today Midoriya, is everything alright?" he asked softly, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder. Midoriya jumped at the sound of Todoroki, and felt the male's hand on his shoulder. His face was a slight shade of pink, and Midoriya hung his head to cover it, his thoughts already washing around in a mental whirlpool. "Y-yes! I'm fine!" he stammered, his hands pressed to his face. Todoroki realized his action of unthinking, and removed his hand from Midoriya's shoulder immediately. I shouldn't have done that, he thought, his head turning away to face the window. Midoriya peeked out from under his hands and took notice of his friend staring out the window, watching as the bus rolled by a sea of green. He removed his hands from his face, and joined the slightly taller student as he pointed out different kinds of ferns and other plant lives in the ecosystem. Todoroki silently listened as Midoriya listed on and on about the succulents that lived in the pots on his windowsill, and somehow, just somehow, the conversation eased on into All Might and all the rest of the top heroes. Knowing about Todoroki's situation with Endeavor, Midoriya did not mention the number two hero in front of him, and didn't even try to list him. Todoroki, though he didn't notice at first, gradually realized how well Midoriya was keeping Endeavor out of his talk. His eyes were shining with gratitude while Midoriya kept on rambling.
Soon enough, Midoriya's eyelids drooped. Who knew talking about heroes and sitting next to Todoroki could be so nerve-wracking and tiring at the same time? His head swooned when the bus hit a bump, and though he tried to stay awake, his eyelids furiously resisted. At the next interstate, his eyes were closed, relieved to be resting his nerves. He soon jumped into a light slumber, unaware of his surroundings. Todoroki kept naming every plant the bus passed by, remembering each and every word Midoriya had informed him about. It was so unusual of him to just remember one's speech, and the tingling feeling inside of him was different...but he felt nice embracing the feeling. As he turned around, his eyes caught on to a Midoriya in his sleep. He was muttering several words, but overall, he was quiet. So quite Todoroki had not even realized that he was even asleep. Though he was known for his straight face, his mouth curved into a small smile. He didn't dare touch him, but instead kept a sideways glance at him to make sure he doesn't fall from the seat while in his peaceful doze. During the remaining minutes before the class arrived at the village, Todoroki had been catching Midoriya's tilting head several times before it fell. The bus rolled to a stop a few minutes later, and Midoriya's eyes slowly opened, one after another. It was, honestly, a cute sight. "Oh, we're here!" he exclaimed, suddenly fully awake. "It's a wonder how I didn't suddenly fall off the seat," he said while stepping off the large vehicle, rubbing his head, still a bit drowsy. Todoroki mused on, but did not once tell Midoriya how he had managed to stay up.
"Class," Aizawa began, watching as students gathered around him. Some were tired, stretching every now and then, but over half of the students were thrilled to be at a new site. "Welcome to Greenwich Village." A large sign was plastered with bold rusty letters. Greenwich Village, it said. The pine trees were extremely tall, and the grass was scattered among the crimson mulch. A few bugs skittered here and there, and the sunlight streamed on the student's faces. It was a fine sight. Todoroki stared at Midoriya, and was surprised to see that the green haired boy was already gazing at him, grinning. Todoroki's heart skipped a beat, and he gave a curt nod. His head was perspiring from standing next to Midoriya, for they were only an arm length away. Midoriya gave a short glance at the boy, unable to read his expression, but noticed the beads of sweat dotting his forehead. "Are you okay, Todoroki? Are you going to be sick?" Todoroki shook his head. "I'm good," he replied, wiping his brow. He followed the rest of class 1-A as they entered the pathway in the woods, hoping to appear to Midoriya that he was in perfect condition.
While inside him, his heart was throbbing with a bashful demeanor.
A/N: This chapter might be a bit short compared to the last chapter, but the next chapter will be a bit longer! Just needs some more variety. The preview of the next chapter will focus on the training at Greenwich, the stargazing, and the food, since we all love food, obviously. And even if you don't like food, I'm sure inside you secretly do. That's all for this chapter!
