Demi looked at the time on her phone and she stood up. "It's time for dinner. I'm gonna order from Olive Garden. What would you like?"

"Um, how about salad with Italian dressing on the side and a cup of Pasta e Fagioli." I told her as I went on my phone.

She nodded and went to call Olive Garden.

I chose salad with the dressing because if I eat slow enough, then the dressing will shrivel up the lettuce, and it will look like more has been eaten then what I really ate. I didn't want to order soup, but I had to because I knew Demi wasn't going to let me just eat salad. And since we're eating it here, I don't have to eat the soup tonight. I can always eat it tomorrow, or not at all.

*****A week later*****

I was finally off the crutches by time we made it to the studio. We stopped by Starbucks on the way, and I got a Iced Green Tea and Demi got a coffee that I didn't bother to remember the name of. When we reached the studio, Nick was standing outside the doors, holding a plate of Demi's favorite thing to eat for breakfast, Egg white omelet with cheese, spinach, avocado and mushroom.

Demi kissed Nick. "Hey. Thanks for the breakfast."

They were truly in love. NEMI for the win!

"Nick. This is our daughter, Allyna Kate Lovato." Demi said.

"Hi." He told me.

"Can I get a hug, Dad?" I asked

I trusted Demi, so I might as well trust Nick. I mean he was my dad after all.

Nicks eyes lit up as he walked over and gave me a hug.

We walked in and Demi wrote some songs. I opened my notepad and I pulled up a song that I wrote called Smoke and Mirrors.

(For the sake of the story, Allyna wrote Smoke and Mirrors.)

I walked over to Demi. "Hey. Can I sing a song I wrote?"

"Sure. Just let me get you all set up." Demi told me

Demi and I walked over to the music producer that was helping Demi with Tell Me You Love Me, and we asked him to play the music that I have selected.  We walked into the recording booth and she helped me get ready.

"Ok. So, when he says 'mic check', you are going to say it back to him through the mic." Demi said, and then I put the headphones on.

"Mic Check." The voice came through.

"Mic check." I said back.

"Ok, Allyna, whenever you're ready, just give me the thumbs up."

I took a deep breath and then I gave him the thumbs up as he started to play the mix that I made.

"Standing on the front lines
Staring at the sunrise
Over the hill
Waiting for the kill
Sweet anticipation
Never conversation
Tears in our eyes
From holding too tight

Waiting till the demons come
Wait for us to see them run in our direction
Now there staring at us though the trees
Got us falling to our knees
To teach us a lesson

So tell me
Did you ever really love me
Did you ever really want me
Now that I see you clearer?
I wonder
Was I ever really happy?
Didn't get the chance to ask me
Now that I see you clearer
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors, ohh
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors?

Holding on to tables
Pulling out the staples
Keeping you close
Now were not afloat
Point me in the right direction
Answer me one question
Cause I could've sworn
That I wasn't wrong

Waiting till the demons come
Wait till we see them run in our direction
Now there staring at us through the trees
Got us falling to our knees
To teach us a lesson

So tell me
Did you ever really love me
Did you ever really want me
Now that I see you clearer
I wonder
Was I ever really happy
Didn't get the chance to ask me
Now that I see you clearer
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors oh
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors?

Darling I have been afraid
I could only call your name
Thank the heavens that you stayed
ooh
But if I'm telling you the truth
When I cut the tether loose
It was me
Saving you

So tell me
Did you ever really love me
Did you ever really want me
Now that I see you clearer
I wonder
Was I ever really happy
Didn't get the chance to ask me
Now that I see you clearer
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors
Was it just Smoke and Mirrors."

When I finished, I look at Demi and she had tears in her eyes. "Did you write that?"

I nodded.

"Demi I think we have a new superstar on our hands." Phil said.

(I will be writing this man out of the story for reasons you will see further along, but he is only in here because he was still managing Demi when I first wrote this.)

I smiled.

Within the next hour, I had a record deal at Safehouse Records.

"Baby. Your voice is almost better than mine." Demi said.

I shook my head. "No it's not. Yours is way better."

Demi gave me the 'we will talk about this later' look.

"Nick we need to leave. I'll see you later?"

Nick nodded. We walked out of the studio and the paps swarmed us. When we finally got in the car, and Max drove away, Demi turned to me.

"What was that in there?" Demi asked.

"What?"

"Why did you say that your voice isn't better than mine?"

"Because it isn't. You've had years of vocal lessons."

We got home and we walked inside. "Nick is coming over for dinner."

"K. I'm going up to my room."

***Trigger Warning***

I went up to my bathroom and I pulled down my pants. I pulled my blade from behind the toilet. I placed it on my thigh and I swiped it across. It gave me a sense of relief. I cleaned the blood up with a black towel and I put a pair of sweats and sweatshirt on.

***End Trigger Warning***

"Ally." Demi called.

I went downstairs to see Demi holding my pack of razors.

'What are these?" Demi asked.

"My razors." I said.

"Why?"

"I needed to shave. So I bought a pack of razors."

"Ok. Let me see." Demi said.
