Safe at Last

OK, well, I'm home sick and being treated for strep throat. Might as well write some.  So here we go. Hope y'all are enjoying the  story and thank  you all so much for reading this. It means so much and this  has been so much fun. We're not done yet,  there are still twp more parts after this with a  little more drama to come.

With that being said, let's go.

The EMTs decide that you need to go to the hospital. It wasn't anything serious, just for a quick blood test and make sure everything's all right. Steven sits in the back of the ambulance with you and hold your hands in his. He strokes the backs of your hands with his thumbs.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you. I wasn't there to protect you like I should have been. I'm so sorry," Steven looks miserably guilty.

"How could you have known he was going to kidnap me Steven?" you squeeze his hands.

"It's my job to protect you though. And I didn't.  I failed my one job of keeping my angel safe,"  Steven sighs.

"But you found me Steven," you smile at him adoringly.

"Of course I found you babe. I love you we're meant to be together. And no psycho is going to take you from me," Steven kisses your hands.

"I can't believe that the delivery guy  was in on it, too. I was so afraid they would kill you. If they had I wouldn't have wanted to live either," you fight tears welling up in your eyes.

"I'll always be there for you babe," he wipes your tears.

The EMTs take you to the hospital and you get checked out. You hate needles so Steven holds your hand as they draw blood to do a quick test make sure everything was okay. The nurse said they were making  sure that  you weren't drugged at any point other than the chloroform. The doctors look over you and make sure you don't have any broken bones and then clear you to go home.

You're  exhausted and just want to  go rest, but before you can go home you have to answer questions from the police. A  detective had sent a car to follow you to the hospital.  After you are released, the officers take you and Steven down to the station so that you can answer questions. They ask you what happened exactly and details of  when you were taken and everything that was said to you. You go over everything multiple times. As you described everything, it really starts to hit you all the danger you had been in and you start to shake in fear. Steven wraps his arm around you and rubs your shoulder soothingly and hugs you to him. Having him there makes it easier to get through everything.

"I think we're good now,"  the  detective smile s kindly.
