Ann couldn't help but notice one of the girls on the other side of the table, projecting an unpleasant 'welcoming vibe'.

She was rather touchy feely with the boy beside her. The same boy who had his eyes wandering towards Ann all night.

She must have noticed the way the boy poured more of his attention towards Ann, as the girl made evident; the look of envy.

"Aren't you dating one of those twins?", the brunette finally spoke.

Her tone was rhetoric, and misleading.

Dana's eyes instantly widened at the girl's sudden and inconsiderate comment.

It seemed like everyone else's conversations around the table had also been cut short after the question.

"Um".

Cameron could sense Ann was becoming uneasy, as he noticed her fingers fiddle on her lap.

"Jesus Madison, you can't just ask shit like that", Cameron scolded at her.

Everyone's eyes were wandering, bouncing back and forth from Ann, to Cameron, to Madison.

"I'm sorry I'm just curious?", she spat, "Unless you like broke up or something", followed by a careless shrug.

Dana scoffed at the girl.

"Why don't you shove another bread stick down your mouth Madison".

Dana's comment caused reactions from around the table. Matt cupped his mouth, almost blurting his drink out of it, whilst Nash choked on his.

Jack G calmed Dana, rubbing her forearm, as he was not the only one who sensed the infuriation radiating from her body.

Ann pushed herself away from the table.

Her heart began to ache, walking away from the group, as thoughts she had been trying to avoid all night were coming back into her head.

"Ann!", an unfamiliar voice called from behind her.

It was the same boy Madison was all over. Why was he chasing after her?

"Are you alright?", he asked her, with concern in his eyes.

Ann gave him a single nod. She didn't say anything.

"Carter!", the brunette followed.

Ann rolled her eyes at the sight of the girl, as she turned her back to the pair and continued to walk away from them.

"What the hell are you doing?", Madison scolded at the boy.

"Are you seriously going to chase after a girl you don't even know?", her tone was stern.

Carter released a heavy huff, rolling his eyes at the brunette. He faced her and shook his head in amusement.

"Madison", he was calm.

She arched her eyebrow at him, waiting for his response.

"I don't like you", he spat.

Carter walked away, leaving the girl in awe, as she remained still in her spot.

She was mute.

The rest of the group just so happened to have witnessed the scene. No one seemed to sympathise with Madison, instead, they all exchanged looks with one another and in-sync, agreed to stay quiet.

"Typical", Cameron scoffed.
