Good Night

Sitting in bed is one thing to do when you're high off something offered in the street. Yeah, but what else to do when your mind is as messy as your room. I continued to sit, hugging my knees as I could think of nothing but what was in above me. The ceiling, supposedly heaven, clouds...

"Ha, look at me being all philosophical." In the next room I heard impacts of fists being thrown and tried to think nothing of it. Lifting my head to the wobbling and tipping room, I fixed my eyes on a hypnotic spot in the ceiling that I loved to look at. Now it was even better than usual, colours blending and fading on what was supposed to be white. My blue eyes traced the waves as I slipped into a nearly hypnotic feeling of calm for once that day. This feeling of peace was kind of worth it... my mother's yowling started getting to me again and I huffed. Readjusting myself on the bed, I tried to re-focus on the calming hues above me. I felt my tail instinctively twitch from the sudden shift in colors when the smooth blues became fire red. I grumbled lowly, not anxious or startled enough to hiss, as to not draw attention to myself. I heard my mother scream again over the jazz radio station I'd forgotten was playing.

"ugh, where's Al when I need him."
