Rain fell like bullets as he waited for his mother. She screamed in pain through the thin walls of the white floresent lighted hospital, and he flinched every time she did. His father was with her. The doctors were with her. She was going to be okay, he told himself, clenching his hands tighter with every scream pulling apart her vocals. She'll be all right.

He rubbed his hands together to try and stop them from sweating. He was getting nervous. She screamed again, but it was different. Almost softer. More quiet and straining as if pulling something with all her might, the final home stretch. Doctors sounded frantic in the room, their shoes squeaking on the polished floors and sounds of metal being dropped haistily. And before he could register a word from what they were saying, he heard their cries for the first time.

Bakugo frowned as his little sister jumped up and down on his bed. His eyes followed her as she giggled and yelped in excitement with every bounce. She jumped with all her might with her back to him, before turning to see her older brother glaring. His annoyance didn't faze her as it would others. She was too used to him coming home from UA pissed off. He did admit to being happier in middle school, except without a clear reason why.

"I thought I told you to stay off my bed, twerp."

She smiled too brightly for her own good. "I was off of it, but one of my friends called and guess what!"

"What?"

"She got her quirk. Isn't it exciting?" she asked.

He rolled his eyes and tossed his case on the ground. "Not really." he said. "Everyone gets their quirks around your age. It just really depends on the kind." He smirked and sparked up his hand earning awe from his sister.

"Yours is so cool."

He smirked. "You know it. And when you get yours, it'll be just as great. Then you can show up any loser you want, especially when they piss you off."

"Like you do for your boyfriend?"

"Exca- Hey!" She only laughed as his face twisted in rage. "Say that again and no Metal Gear for three weeks."

"Ah! I'm sorry." She apologised quickly.

He grunted and sat on his bed with her, taking out the controls. She greedily grabbed one and started to play, choosing to pick a multi shooter. He didn't bother with asking before setting the slit screened. He beat her lazily as hours drained away as she demanded rematch after rematch.

It wasn't until he let her win did she jump again.

"Yes! I won." she cried. "Beat that Bakago!"

"I did, twelve times." he said, rolling his eyes. "And what'd I say about jumping on my bed?"

She giggled as she sneered, "Did you buy it?" she asked, recalling his words every time he ate her snacks or walking into her room to lay on her bed.

He scoffed and said, "I chose it out, so technically-"

"You only picked it because it has All Might's red color." she interrupted. "So technally, it's All Might's bed."

That was a huge leap in logic Bakugo thought, grimancing at the idea. She rambled about how right she was, singing her own praises until he could all but grin in her confidence.

Until it flashed for a nanosecond in his mind, the thought that Saru's logic was too akin to a certain bug. He shook away the thought and asked, "So what's that quirk your friend got?"

She hesitated before saying, "She can jump really really high and she grew an animal tail like a lion's tail, but also like a dog. It's short, but cool. I didn't see it yet, she called on the phone to tell me, and we got excited. Then I started jumping on the bed to think of what it'd be like to jump really high."
