Saru stood at Izuku's front door, pressing her lips together as she tried to fight back her tears. She knocked on their door, a bit harder that time, a bit more impatiently -
"Yes? Oh. Saruka-chan? What are you doing here?" Inko asked.
"Can I talk to Izukun?" she asked quickly.
"I'm. . . Um. He'll be coming home for lunch I suppose, but don't you have school?"
She shhok her head, playing with her bag. "I, uh, I'm supposed to be at a club, but I . . . There's this g- person I . . . I fought with and we go to that club together and I . . ." she gulped up fresh air. "I just need to avoid them, right now."
She hummed in understanding. "Of course, dear. If you want something to eat, there's food in the fridge. I have to run errands soon, but I won't be long."
She's being too long. Saru thought as she waited by herself. Seriously, what the fuck? It can't be taking her that long.
"Mom? I'm home." Izuku called as he entered the house.
Saru shot up. "Izukun! You're here."
Izuku froze. "Sacchan? Aren't you supposed to be in school? Where's Koucchan?"
"Fuck her. Listen, I need some advice."
He blinked, but nodded slowly. She had a tendency to visit ever since she found out his address. "Sure. What's the problem?"
He set down his bag and pulled out some tea. She fiddled with some napkins as she played with words in her head. She always needed a moment to gather herself before talking. "Have you . . . I don't mean to assume, but you seem more like that kind of guy, so I thought it'd be best to ask you. Have you, or do you . . . think guys are hot?"
Izuku turned to study her flustered red face, waiting for an answer. He set down the cups he reached for and pulled out the teabags. He felt his head go fuzzy and he thought of Todoroki, Katsuki, Iida, Kirishima, Sota, Shouji . . . He sighed to himself. "Are you asking cause Sacchan have someone she likes in school?"
She yelped.
"It's perfectly normal. Especially at your age." he continued. "I already had a cruch at the time, Ochako, you know."
"Yeah. Airhead face."
He strained to smile. "Well, at the time, I also started noticing a guy I went to school with. He had a strong quirk, and very stoic at the time." Well, he still was. "And I thought to myself one night, if I wasn't into Uraraka . . . I could or would like Todokorki-kun that way."
She nodded along, taking in his words. "So you're bi?"
Izuku shugged, laughing to himself. "Yeah. I surprised myself then, almost had an existential crisis over who I had a crush on. But . . . Oh, well. You should talk to Kacchan about this actually. He did give me some advice on this actually."
She shook her head. "Um . . . I don't think he has the time now. He's really busy at work. Besides . . . What exactly did you think to make you think you liked Todoroki-san?"
"I . . . This is embarrassing, but I pictured what it would be like if he was above me in bed, or was it me on top?" He mumbled from there, arguing with his memories as Saru grew red as she pictured the girl over her, in a dim room, leaning down with plup lips and bare chest. She slapped her cheeks abruptly, hoping to clear her head. "Well, either way. Whenever I imagined myself in that position with either Todoroki or Uraraka or someone of my tpye. I felt my stomach flip with. . . ."
". . . Excitement?"
Izuku snapped his fingers happily, just as the tea kettle whistled. "That's it." He smiled as he readied their tea. While dabbing the bags, he said, "I do think you should still talk with Kacchan though. He might be able to give advice better than me. I mean . . . He did drop as many relationships as he did friends in middle school, but he has had the longest lasting relationship with someone since high school."
