"I'm just wanna say, I'm gonna win." Bakugo said with a dully assured tone, sweeping the entire crowds above and below into a frenzy.
He narrowed his eyes to one of the far out stands to see cameras pointing right at him. The twins cheering and waving their arms about in front of theur TV, shaking their fists restlessly as his mother tried to calm them down, no doubt with curses. He looked back at the booing crowd. He frowned as he continued. "You all might as well just give up now. There's no way I'm losing to cannon fodder like you."
Through all the boos and berates, his sisters cheered as loud as their lungs could allow. "Kick their faces in, Katsukun!"
"You can win this! Fuck them up, Bakago!"
"Sit your asses down and don't swear, you little shits!"
There was hardly a moment of rest between the tournements and challenges. Saruka sat, focused on the screen, studying the other contestants that ran out. She stiffened when she saw the half and half haired boy freeze the robots like it was nothing. Her blood ran cold at the sight of over half the runners finding themselves encased in ice. That boy had unholy power. Seeing his face, stone cold without either remose for his action or delight in them, it scared her. He didn't even flinch as they fell and crushed the other players.
She felt nothing as she saw the students struggle and some pulling themselves out of the catastrophe. Where was Bakugo? Was he hurt?
She gulped, her sister glaring at the screen saying: "Come on. Come on, Katsukun, you idiot."
She wiped her tears as the half and half boy ran out ahead. Who knew that the race would be so one sides?
"You made you declaration of war to the wrong person, Icy Hot!"
Saru shot up, searching the screen for the sight of her brother. Her lips corners curled up once the camera focused on him, showing off his fired up eyes and pissed off face. She smirked with him, punching the air victoriously. "Go Bakago! Show that Half and Half what's for!"
She cheered as he blasted his way across the canyon and the mines. Shomi waved red flags around happily, screaming her lungs out.
Until Deku beat them to the punch, entering back into the arena first.
Saru frowned, watching the boy stager in, with a tired but victorious smile. Her eyes glazed to a dull analyzing manner. He didn't even bother using his quirk. Why wasn't he using it? Was he showing that he didn't need his quirk to win? What was he trying to prove? She felt her heart pang with hurtful pride. She wanted to smile with him, but looking at his untouched plain figure, that had done near nothing but smack a metal sheet around, she felt torn. Should she feel pride, honor his winning without a quirk? She wanted to be in his place, showing off that she could be better than them even without a power to call her own. But . . . he had a power, and he chose to keep it hidden. Did he think so highly of himself to not give it his all?
She tched in annoyance. That hypocrite.
"No matter what, give it your all." Izuku said happily. She pouting as she stared at the paper. English was annoying. Why the hell did she choose it as her language of choice? Why is the E always silent in the end?!
"But it's so hard."
Izuku just smiled happily. "Even if you fail, you can learn from it and bounce back. Heck, you can even show off what you do know when you try."
She pouted as she tapped her pencil on the paper. "Katsu is right. You can sound annoying."
He didn't bother giving it his all.
