For those of you who aren't familiar with the story, let me introduce you. Above on the left, the DC Entertainment's Vertigo imprint, on the right the tv show version. Based on a much-loved comic book character from Neil Gaiman's comic The Sandman, Lucifer is a derivative drama with a satanic twist. Meet Lucifer Morningstar.
The Devil.
He's quite open about it too. You know why? The devil never lies.
So what is this show about? It's about the Lord of Hell, obviously, who has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A, where he is indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and music.
When he is introduced to LAPD homicide detective, Chloe Decker, Lucifer becomes intrigued by her. As they work together to solve murders, Lucifer is struck by Chloe's inherent goodness. Used to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, he begins to wonder if there's hope yet. Maybe everyone's got a chance for redemption. Even the Devil.
