Hearing the unusual noise I put the crate down.
"Erik!"
I heard my mom holler from outside. "Yeah" I hollered out grabbing a sweater from the coat hanger as I stood at the opened front door revealing my mom's figure still wearing that same yellow monsters inc. Wannabe suit.
"I must be high from the cleaning products" she spoke in a soft tone as she started shaking. I turned towards where she was looking to peak at an object that resided in the clouds.
It looked like some alien ship from those cheesy sci-fi shows that I used to watch with my dad as it casted a shadow over us and literally the rest of the neighborhood causing them to come out. They were mostly old couples and potheads.
"What the fuck! I was trying to sleep through this shit!" I saw Mr.Johnson across the street yelling through his worn-out dentures as a slipper flipped in the air causing Ryan, one of the potheads in the neighborhood to laugh hysterically.
His terrible attempt at throwing.
I heard my useless brother behind me as he started breathing on my neck.
Personal space much.
I still couldn't believe what I was seeing since It literally blocked any sunlight, and it was the afternoon.
More commotions and arguments drafted to my ears as they grew louder and Mr.Johnsons other slipper attempted to sore once again. That was when in an instant a beam shot down instantly exploding Mr.Johnson, blood and guts spewing and splattering on the ground as his dentures clattered on the pavement.
Everyone went silent.
Ryan was the only one who was laughing, pot in hand.
The beam ignored him, damn.
This caused a scream and everyone to be in hysterics.
The beam started to explode people as it shot my neighbors house causing debris and large rocks to land on the front lawn.
"Aghhh!"
"Mom!" I hurried to her side seeing her face-first in the dirt with a big-ass rock literally sinking in her legs my mom turned to me and my brother struggling with tears in her eyes.
"Get inside now!"
"Theres no way I'm leaving you!"
My brother was already inside the house, asshole.
"You don't really have a choice do you?" She sobbed as a painful clunk sound came from her legs when she tried to move.
"Mom, don't do this to me"
My face was streaking with tears as I started to ugly cry in a very manly way.
"Sweetie, make sure to turn off the lights when you leave a room" she stroked my cheek as she smiled pleasantly. "And don't let your brother cook anything, he could purposely poison you." She giggled as tears streamed down her face. I sniffed,
"of course, that fucker can't do anything-".
"Ow"
"No cursing in front of me, also you should take that sweater off its ugl-"That was when a large rock landed right on mom's head, crushing it on impact.
I sat there.
And wept.
Loud and hard.
"I love this sweater" I whispered to myself as I curled up into a ball amongst the weird alien creatures that were sent out of the space ship a while ago that tore people apart.
