Delancey just looked at Marina's car drive off to the distance. She couldn't help but feel bad for her friend.
Marina seemed to have worked so hard to get someone go with her to the very first live game she witnessed.
Biting her fiery red lip, Delancey held her apartment keys on her hand and looked down.
Poor Marina.
Her eyes lit up when she had an idea.
Pulling out her phone, Delancey texted Marina.

"Hey, Mari. I was thinking we could go to... another match? Like a besties date u know?"

Delancey's phone dinged the moment she turned it off to receive a notification from Marina.

"Really? OMG! That's probably the nicest thing you've done!!"

"Yeah I guess. So when does your team play?"

"In three days!!"

"Alright. You get the tickets and we'll see each other then ok?"

"Yessss!!! Ily Del!!"

"Love u too, Mari. x"

Delancey grinned warmly at her phone and realized how much Marina meant to her.
Being friends since high school.
I am NOT going to make Mari unhappy. It's not right, Delancey though firmly.
The redhead shoved her phone on her pocket and clicked on the elevator button to get to her apartment.

Later that night, Delancey scrolled through her Instagram aimlessly, with pretty much nothing to do. In fact, she actually checked Marina's following.
Suddenly she encountered an account that triggered something on her mind.

@harrykane.

She made a forced, disgusted look and stalked his profile.
He actually looked... nice.
He seemed to enjoy other hobbies than football, like golf.
He also seemed to be a massive NFL fan.

Erk. What a poser.

Delancey low key didn't even know why she was angry at him so much.
It could be said that she was... bitter at him for no apparent reason.
Sometimes she had an attitude with certain people. Shaking her head, she turned off her phone and groaned for a long time.

"What did I get myself into? Being a good person with your friend is exhausting." Delancey lamented dramatically.
Naturally she was a massive overreacter.
The ginger stood up and walked aimlessly around her apartment.

***********

Three days later, Delancey woke up with a sore head. She hadn't slept the three days because college was exhausting and her time working as a waitress only made her more irritable.
Delancey rubbed her tired eyes and stood up grudgingly.
The first thing she noticed was a reminder on her phone.

"Spurs game w/ Marina."

"How could I forget!" Delancey yelled out loud, jumping to life. She looked at the watch on her phone.
11:34 AM.
"God, why am I so lazy?" Delancey whined, throwing her socks to the floor in a sort of small tantrum.
Per contra, no matter the situation, dressing up and putting on makeup always put her in a good mood, or at least, a better mood than a negative attitude.
After an hour of deciding what to put on, dressing up and painting her face, Delancey simply decided to put on black lounge shorts and a light yellow with red t-shirt.
A very simple style, in comparison to some of her fancy and somewhat extra clothes.
Delancey styled her reddish locks into a ponytail and admired herself in the mirror.

"Wouldn't it be fun if the world revolved around me?" She purred selfishly.
Sometimes Marina called out Delancey's narcissism but clearly the redhead would ignore it.
In the middle of her contemplation, her phone dinged.
Marina was here.
Feeling sort of excited, she typed quickly;
"I'm going!!"
