Chapter 8 - The Outskirts

Snooki was awoken by Liam shaking her. "Come on Snooki, it's time to wake up." Snooki sat up and found Leon stood looking towards where he was wanting to go. "Why is it not morning? Why is it still nighttime," the girl asked. "We don't know. It's just what this place is like. I don't know if there is a way for the sun to come out, maybe it's once all these bad guys are gone," Leon replied. He added, "Come on guys. We have everything we need, now let's go and say hi to Kyle." Before Snooki could question, they all started walking. Half an hour later, they all seemed to be at the parched land. The huntress didn't like the way it looked. No water, burnt trees everywhere they looked, there were even remains of animals. "We call this place, the outskirts. I don't let any of my people come here, this place is dangerous." Leon suddenly pulled Snooki and Liam behind a burnt tree as people were walking past their way. Leon peeked to find it was their enemy talking with one of his people. He listened carefully to hear what he was saying. "Don't worry, once he realises his people are missing, he'll come crying to me in no time. The problem is that he doesn't know how I felt once my own family betrayed me. My own blood." Snooki whispered after hearing the conversation, "Leon, what's he talking about? Is he talking about you?" Leon didn't answer for a minute. But when he finally did, he changed the subject completely, "Follow me, there's a chance he has our people in that building over there." Once Kyle and one of his people turned their backs, the hunters and huntress sneaked towards a tall building that seemed to have a dark tint.

Since she wasn't getting anything from Leon, Snooki asked Liam, "Who's this Kyle? What does he have to do with Leon?" Liam sighed as he looked at Leon, who was in front, he then looked at Snooki. "Leon doesn't have a nice past with Kyle. If you must know, Kyle betrayed Leon a few years back. But Kyle thinks of it his own way. He thinks the family betrayed him. You see, Kyle's parents were the best hunter and huntress, even Leon would tell you. I don't really know why it worked this way, but because Leon is actually Kyle's older cousin, they gave him the place of the next hunter. Apparently it was because Leon was older so he was next to take the place. This lead to Kyle's heart turning green and living in great jealousy. Shortly after Kyle's parents died and Leon took his uncle's place, he took his small group, including Kyle, out to hunt. That's when Kyle betrayed him. Leon's group was attacked by this other group of hunters, turns out Kyle put them up to it. Kyle ran to hide and helped ambush Leon's group. Luckily he managed to survive, but his people, they didn't make it. But that's what Leon thought, luckily only two of us had survived, me and Xian. Since then, Kyle has been doing everything he can to take out Leon." Snooki stared at Liam. Now she understood why Kyle was doing what he was doing. "Guys! Over here, I've found the entrance," Leon whispered so he couldn't draw attention. Liam and Snooki quickly ran to Leon and entered the building.

It was enormous on the inside. Strangely there was no one in sight. They turned towards a black door on their left. Once they opened it, Snooki almost fainted. All around the room were Leon's people that were scattered in their own little cages, like they were animals. "Oh my god. How could he," Snooki said under her breath. The hunters and huntresses exclaimed once they saw the three. But little did they know, they drew the attention of Kyle. "Well, well, well. Look who we have here," Kyle said as he and two of his people walked through the doorway. "Oh, looks like you brought the newbie. I was thinking of taking her as well, but I thought maybe she should see how much of a monster you are before trying to help you take back your people." Leon said in frustration, "Kyle what the hell are you talking about? I haven't done anything to you." Kyle replied after letting out a small chuckle, "You're not being serious, right? You took away the chance of me being the next leader of the Hunters and Huntresses. Hey huntress, want to know why this area looks the way it does? It's because HE burned this place." Leon responded, "Stop being a fool Kyle. You're only doing this because you're jealous, I haven't done anything. Now you either let my people go, or I make you." Kyle again chuckled at Leon's sentence. When he finally caught his breath he said, "Is that a threat? If that's how you want it, so be it. Release the dragon!"
