Munakata Reisi

You were anxiously pacing around the living and glancing at the clock every few seconds. You looked down at your wrist before realizing you did not have a watch on because you did not even own one. You sighed in frustration and started to regret the decision you made the other day. After you met the Blue King at the store, he had helped you pick out a puzzle for your cousins. You had to say that you actually thought his decision was good. He opted for a nice cartoon puzzle that both young boys and girls liked. Out of courtesy, you had decided to invite to your cousin's birthday party as well, and now you were starting to regret it more than any other decision you had ever made before.

Within the second, you heard the doorbell ring and you thought your heart would burst. You could feel a headache coming on as you stumbled towards the door. You clumsily opened the door and opened your mouth to say something. However, the sight before you prevented any words from forming in your mind. There stood the Blue King that you had so impetuously invited to your cousins' party. You were caught off guard by the fact that he was no longer wearing his elegant blue uniform, but instead he was dressed in rather casual clothing that fit him perfectly. You were surprised by the poise and grace that surrounded him as he entered the house.

While appraising his appearance in your mind, you unknowingly began to stare at him for quite an unusual amount of time. You finally snapped out of it when you caught his gaze staring at you amusingly. After meeting his eyes, your heart began to speed up and your face began to flush as you tried to direct your sight away from him but found that you could not escape his captivating eyes. He slightly smirked and began to turn to walk away when suddenly, you found yourself reaching for his hand and grasping it as if you had something urgent to say.

He turned towards you questioningly and asked, "Is something the matter, (Y/N)-san?"

You began to stutter and stumble over your words for you did not even know why your body possessed you to grab his hand.

Finally, with a feeble amount of courage, you managed to whisper in a faint voice, "I like you, Munakata-san."

The both of you stood in awkward silence and you began to regret saying anything and began to wonder if he had even heard what you said. After what seemed like an eternity, he bent down to your eye-level, smiled slightly, and replied with, "I like you too, (Y/N)-san"

Fushimi Saruhiko

RING! As the bell rang, you immediately stood up and a smile erupted across your face. You ran over to your best friend's desk and stood over him.

"Saru-kun, let's go eat lunch! I brought my favorite and I'll even share some with you today!" Your friend lazily looked up at you and sighed, "(Y/N)-chan," Saru-kun said lethargically, "I'm tired, we should just take a nap instead." You pouted and implored him to at least go outside with you after you ate. You dragged him outside and tried to convince him to play tag with some of your other friends, but he stubbornly refused every effort you made to force him to join in on the fun. After lunch, your mood had significantly dropped since the morning. Not only were you hurt that Saru-kun had continually refused to play with you, he then went to class without you. You pouted in silence and decided that you would retaliate by refusing to speak to him.

In your last class of the day, you saw Saru-kun writing something in his notebook. You were going to ask him what he was doing, but then you remembered that you were not on speaking terms with him. You sighed and turned around boredly. You realized today how boring school was when Saru-kun was not always by your side and keeping you company.

After school, you decided that you were going to approach him and ask if he wanted to walk home together. However, he walked out of class fairly quickly and you ended up running to try and catch up with him. You yelled his name hoping he would wait for you, but he did no such thing. You could feel tears welling up in your eyes along with anger and frustration boiling within your stomach. You simply could not understand why your best friend was suddenly refusing to play with you and even though you were the one who started to ignore him, you felt extremely lonely on the inside.

Even though he was far ahead of you, you continued to pursue him until you reached his home. Though you were filled with disappointment, you wanted to receive an explanation, even if it hurt you even more. You anxiously walked up to his front door and began to knock. His mother answered the door and invited you inside before directing you upstairs where Saru-kun was. As you trudged up the stairs, you became increasingly worried that you were about to lose your best friend for something that may have unknowingly done.

You hesitantly knocked on the door and waited for him to give a signal that you could enter. After hearing him respond with "come in", you took a deep breath and stepped into his room. Once you were inside the room, you gently closed the door behind you and walked towards his desk where he was sitting. You tapped on his shoulder and he turned around with a smile before noticing that it was you.

After this realization struck him, he quickly turned around and shuffled the papers on his desk into a nearby drawer and turned back around to face you. He sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and said, "Oh hi (Y/N)-chan. What're you doing here?"

Saddened by the fact that he did not seem excited to see you, tears began to form in your eyes once more as you responded with, "Nothing. I just wanted to talk to you because you were ignoring me today."

He did not say anything in return which made you frustrated because you had walked all the way to his house and you were determined to receive an answer.

"I need to know why you won't talk to me or I won't leave this room," you stated as you took a seat on his bed. He sighed and moved his chair towards you.

"I didn't mean to ignore you, (Y/N)-chan. I was too focused on doing something important today, so I didn't want any distractions."

"Something more important than being there for your best friend?"

"... I'm sorry (Y/N)-chan. I just can't afford to waste any time."

The tears that were trapped in your eyes started to drip down your face as he revealed that you were less important to him than whatever he needed to do. You did not want him to see you bawling, so you quickly stood up and went to leave his room. However, he intercepted you at the door and forced it closed. His fingers lifted your chin as he forced you to look into his eyes. He looked into your eyes for a second as your hands were rushing to wipe away the remaining tears.

Suddenly, he leaned down and kissed your forehead softly and whispered against your skin, "I'm sorry (Y/N)-chan. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was planning a surprise for you and I got too caught up in the work that I neglected your feelings. I like you, a lot, and I was hoping that this surprise would make you see how much I do."

You were astounded and you could hardly breathe as your heart pounded against you chest rapidly. You sighed in relief and leaned your head against his chest. You could hear his heartbeat resounding just as quickly as yours. You breathed out and responded with, "I like you too, Saru-kun. You don't need to prove anything to me. Just be there with me."
