Ponyboy imagine
"Hey Pony," you say in class, as you begin to take out your notebook. Ponyboy looks up, and gives you a fake smile. Ponyboy had been through a lot the past week. His two friends died, and he even witnessed Johnny Cade kill Bob Sheldon, all on self defense, of course. He had bleached his hair blonde, and it didn't look too bad.
"Hey, y/n. Did I miss a lot of work?" He asked you, referring to school.
"Yeah. But I think the teachers will let you go. They know what happened," you say quietly. "Are you alright?"
He looked up from the ground, snapping out of a gaze. "What? Yeah, I'm alright." He played with the sleeves on his blue leather jacket.
"If you need anything, you can always come to me. I know this must be really hard," you say, looking at Ponyboy.
"Wanna come over today after school?" He asked, beginning to smile a little. You nod, happy. You always had a crush on Ponyboy Curtis.
Finally, school was done. You grinned when you heard the ring of the last bell of the day. Rushing out of the classroom, you darted towards Ponyboy in the hallway.
The walk home was silent, but it wasn't awkward. You walked in the door, and the house was a little messy. His two brothers, who you had met before, were probably at work. Johnny wasn't around to hang out with Pony after school, and Two-Bit was probably depressed himself and wanted to be alone. This way, you had the whole afternoon alone with Ponyboy.
You hung out all day, talking and watching some tv. As the sun began to set, you two walked into the lot, to watch the sunset. It had been the perfect day, and a sunset was the perfect way to end it. Pony looked at you and smiled.
"You know that theme I told you about?" He asked you. "I wanna write about something that is important to me." Ponyboy looked back at the sky, and leaned back. "You know, there must be tons of boys and girls like this. Tons of boys and girls who wish for something better and watch sunsets. Tons of kids who hate the world and would die if they got the chance. Or kids who try so hard, but only get beaten down all the time. That's what I have to write about."
You just kept looking at the sky, thinking and thinking about what Ponyboy had just said. It was true, so true.
"You're right. You should definitely write about that, Pony. You should just write about this entire week, and show people how the youth really is," you said. "Not like the stupid cowboy books and stuff, this will show people that there's one hell of a problem out there."
Ponyboy looked at you. "You know something, y/n? You dig okay. You really do," he smiled. The next thing you knew, you were grinning, too. He leaned in, and you kissed. It was a magical kiss. A picture perfect kiss under the sunset.
"Thanks, Ponyboy. You dig okay, too."
