There was a buzz of excitement that ran through the halls that October morning. Everyone in eighth grade had heard of the new kid that was supposed to start school that day. We only knew his name, Sam. Every person had looked around their classroom in hopes to spot him. He didn't show up to any classes in the morning but at lunch he walked in the room. Sam was short, he looked about 5'2. He had dark, messy hair and bright green eyes. He had basketball shoes on that made him have clown feet, he was lean and skinny, and his clothes consisted of polo's with a sweatshirt over it and basketball shorts. He seemed to have a childlike innocence and a cheerful personality.
He walked into the lunchroom lost, nobody to sit by until a hand waved him over. Everyone turned to look at him. Lewis Court, he was one of the nicest kids in the grade. Everyone liked him, except for me, it really wasn't a surprise that he offered. Lewis had his own little gang of friends, a new one to follow his lead I guess. Sam walked over to his table and sat next to Lewis. He looked around at the people who would be his new friends.
"I'm Lewis Court, and on the other side of you is James Hart," he said. Lewis looked average height, he had glasses, neat blond hair that was quite short, and was slightly overweight. He looked like he would be useful in sports.
James' hair was long and was dyed a bright red. He's tall and average looking. He usually wears stuff like ripped skinny jeans and that kind of basic style shirt. Like a white girl shirt. He usually wore Converse.
"Sitting next to me is Holly Pierce," Lewis said. Holly was athletic. She had blonde hair and hazel eyes. She wore athletic clothing. I also knew that she tended to use an abundance of emojis. She was slightly popular but not enough to be officially popular.
"Over there are Evelyn William and Isabel Gray," Lewis said. Evelyn had brown hair that was always styled in one of three ways. Ponytail, messy bun, or hair flip. She is one of the funniest people you'll ever meet. Isabel had blonde hair with blue tips. She was always wearing a shirt from a fandom. She also always made references to said fandoms whenever she could. She's a typical fangirl.
"Nice to meet all of you," Sam said. Later he would learn that it wasn't actually that nice. It would ruin his life. Sam looked around the table once again but this time he couldn't take his eyes off Holly. Holly stayed in his mind that day and everyday since he has met her. Now he knows that was a big mistake, the ones you think are nice always hurt you.
