Hi, I'm a fairy. Now, you may be wondering what my name is and what story I'm from. Well, I'm from Sleeping Beauty, and my name is Maleficent. Now, I know you might think I'm evil, but I'm really not. Okay, I have some faults, but that story Sleeping Beauty? Totally not true. This is the true story, and I'm gonna call it Maleficent.
I was innocently walking to the christening of the newborn princess (whose name was Aurora), and enjoying the sunlight pouring in through the leaves. I realized that the gates were a mere few meters away, so I immediately made my leisurely walk into an excited run. When I got to the gates, the guards let me in, and I gently made my wings flutter and lift me up. I floated through the great oaken doors and flew to the main hall, where I immediately noticed a cradle with the beautiful baby girl inside it. I saw that the other 7 fairies were sitting down, so I joined them. I quickly realized that all the other fairies but me were admiring pure golden plates and silverware, while I was looking at not gold, not even silver, but ordinary tin plates and silverware. Of course I was a bit upset, but I wasn't the type of person to curse someone just for that, so I did nothing. All the fairies stood up and flew to the cradle, so I followed them. Each fairy began leaning over and blessing the child with many wonderful gifts.
"I give you grace!" one fairy cried.
"I give you beauty!" another fairy said.
I myself was about to bless the child with youth, when the hall darkened, the lights dimmed, and the poor baby started to cry. Quickly, all the fairies covered the child with a variety of colorful shields, which began to frighten the queen.
"Stop, stop!" the queen cried, running to stop the fairies.
"No, darling, you don't understand, they're trying to protect-"
But the king was too late. The queen threw herself at the cradle, which shattered our protection shield. Everything went pitch black when a source of light began to float down.
"What's going on?" the queen cried to the king in horror as she held the baby to her bosom.
"I-I I don't know!" the usually confident king stuttered.
Just then, the light reached the ground, and as it did, we realized that the orb of light was no orb at all, but a person, or to be more exact, a fairy! Everyone screamed, including me. The green-skinned fairy threw back her head and laughed.
"Why hello there Stefan, aren't you going to welcome me to your home?" she said.
"N-no, I mean, n-no, I mean-" the king stuttered.
"Well, since you are unable to welcome me, why don't I just give someone a gift?" the fairy said.
"W-why?" the king asked nervously.
"I'm not even going to answer that question," the fairy said smugly. "What about dear Aurora?"
"NO!" the king suddenly found his voice.
"But why not, Stefie?" she said. "Scared?"
"N-no, it's j-just-" he tried to say.
"Well!" the fairy interrupted. "Aurora is the luckiest person in this hall!"
But as everyone exchanged terrified glances, they all knew Aurora was not lucky at all. the fairy snapped her fingers, and all the fairies were hurled out of the way by an unseen force.
"Stop it, Rosemary!" one fairy shrieked.
"My name is Maxine Delarosa, now!" the fairy yelled back. "Now, get out of the way!"
"Never!" the fairy screamed.
Maxine snapped her fingers and that fairy crumpled to the floor. Panicked, I ran to check her pulse. I sighed with relief. Flora was alive and well, though she would probably wake up with a huge headache.
Rosemary honed in on the cradle and began to advance on it, a sneer on her face.
"NO!" the queen screamed as she charged the mad fairy.
"ENOUGH!" Maxine yelled as she shot a blast of green light at the queen, who collapsed, never to get up again. Then she cackled and ran towards baby Aurora.
"No!" I screamed with horror etched on my face. "Please, don't!"
"Well, since you said please," Maxine replied as she turned toward me.
I backed away from the furious woman, almost paralyzed with terror.
"Please..." I whimpered.
"At sunset on her sixteenth birthday," Maxine began as my eyes grew wide with fear. "Aurora shall prick her finger on a spindle and die!"
I screamed and charged Maxine, almost like I had gone mad with fear. She laughed and plucked a coarse hair from her head. Then she poked me with it. My eyes widened.
"Ow!" I muttered, as a drop of blood fell to the floor. "What was that for?"
"For this!" Maxine shouted, and my eyes closed against their will.
When I woke up, I realized with horror that the king was weeping in front of a picture of him, the queen, and Aurora. I gazed at where the queen's portrait hung on the wall. Some servants were hanging a black veil over it. Much to my horror, I realized they were laying another black veil on the portrait of Aurora! How could this have happened? Was I really asleep for fifteen years? I turned back to the king and strode over to embrace him, or do something to comfort him. He looked up at me and gasped with horror.
"Y-you w-witch!" he stuttered. "Guards, arrest this madwoman!"
I gaped at him, then looked at my hand. It was green, just like Maxine's skin! I closed my eyes and turned into a bat, then flew out the window. I flew all the way to a dark castle, where I came to rest in a dark room. Then my eyes closed again.
"Aurora!" I screamed as I woke up. "Aurora-"
I gaped, looking at my surroundings. I was in a dungeon, but not the king's dungeon, for I saw a hunch-backed goblin patrolling the corridors, who had just leered at me. Quickly, I closed my eyes, summoned all my power, and blasted the bars in the windows away. The goblin noticed, and alarms began blaring as I turned myself into a dove and flew away from that horrible castle. I floated back to the king's castle, and I noticed something wrong. There was a great dragon that was roaring at a handsome prince, whom I actually thought looked very nice, so I enchanted his sword to destroy the dragon and help him cut through a bunch of briars that were surrounding the castle. Turning invisible, I followed the prince as he whirled and chopped his way inside the castle where he found his way upstairs (here I noticed that everyone was asleep) and finally, into Aurora's chamber. He knelt down beside her, looked around to make sure nobody was watching, and kissed her. I gasped as she began to wake up, her eyes fluttering, and her breath becoming faster. Aurora opened her eyes and saw the handsome prince.
"Hi?" she said uncertainly.
"Hello, my love," he breathed.
"Oh, hi," she replied.
"We should totally get married, my sweet," the prince said.
"Totally," she said back.
They headed downstairs, where everyone started to wake up.
"Father, I'm getting married to this totally random stranger guy who says he woke me up from a hundred-year-old sleep with a kiss. Can I marry him?"
"Sure!" the king said. "And he's good-looking, too,"
My heart pounded. I turned visible.
"STOP!" I screamed.
The king fell off his throne.
"M-Maxine?" he gasped.
"You bet," I said wickedly. "And I'll be back for more!"
Then I promptly disappeared and appeared weeping, in my old little cottage.
"How c-could he h-have left m-me?" I sobbed, even though we were never together.
I changed back to my normal self and calmed myself. Then I decided to live here for the rest of my life as a mortal. And I still am.
THE END
See? I told you that the real story is better than that ridiculous story that the king's scribes invented just to make him look better and to make me look like a villain!
