Chapter 21

Matt cleared his throat and pulled out a longboard from behind him.

"I don't know if you still ride but-" I stopped him by grabbing the board and running to the elevator.

Matt laughed as the elevator door opened and he ran in with me.

"Where to?" I asked still a little skeptical about going long boarding with him, but I haven't been since I finished college.

"I was thinking the beach" he said.

I laughed and pulled off my shirt "I always have my bathing suit on" I smiled pushing as hard as I could against the cement heading towards the beach.

I turned the corner seeing the fresh ocean water.

I know what you're thinking. Fresh? Is she stupid.

Well no I'm not, but I was practically born in the water. Seriously my mom and dad went to the beach and I guess I was early cause she gave birth in the ocean. Disgusting I know but I love the water.

"Maddi wait up" Matt yelled after me as I jumped off the board and sprinted towards the water. When I got to the edge of the water I took off my shorts and threw them to the side jumping in and swimming out.

Mistake. Before I knew it I could barely see the beach. The only thing I saw was the red flag go up.

"Shit" I said. I turned around to see huge waves forming and I even saw a few fins.

"Shit shit shit" I cursed try to get back to shore but seeing that the current had just brought me further out.

"Help!" I screamed feeling the slippery flesh of an animal below.

I screamed once again before I was knocked out by a wave.

I woke up in an unfamiliar room. Plain white walls everywhere, the only sound was the monitor making sure my heart was still beating.

"Hey sleepy head" a lady in a red and white gown walked in.

"Hi" I said.

"Well you seem fine would you like some food? water?" she asked.

"Both please" I asked.

"Sure and I'll send your friends in" the nice lady walked out.

A few minutes later 12 boys and 5 girls walked in.

"Hey babe" a girl with poofy red hair came closer to me.

I recognized her and one other girl.

"Hey Mahogany" I said sitting up. She sat at the end of the bed and stared at me.

"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN" Hazel screamed running over to me and jumping on my lap.

"CAREFUL IDIOT SHE GOT BIT BY A SHARK" Mahogany screamed. I pulled the sheet off my legs to see three or four gashes on each of my legs.

"Ow" Hazel said sitting next to Mahogany.

The 11 boys approached me and the other 3 girls stood by the door. A boy with bushy eyebrows and tan skin was holding a cellphone in his hand with another boy on it.

They all gave me a hug and when the last boy was done he turned to me "how are you feeling" he asked.

"I'm good but who are you? Who are all of you I only know Mahohany and Hazel" I said.

The boy with bushy eyebrows and the small blonde one looked at me.

"Wait you don't remember us?" they asked at the same time.

"No sorry. Am I supposed to?" I asked lifting my eyebrow.

4 out of the twelve looked really affected.

One had bright blue eyes, another had blonde hair and big brown eyes, another had braces and was wearing a bandana, and the last one wasn't tall fairly short actually and he had brown hair and eyes.

"Um are you guys okay?" I asked pointing at them.

"Really Madd? You don't remember? it's me Cam. Your best friend" Hazel cleared her throat "Well ex-bestfriend" he corrected.

"Or me Matty Poo? Your other ex-bestfriend" the blonde boy questioned.

"Wow you guys must've been jerks" I interrupted.

"You don't remember me? Taylor? Your ex?" the boy with the bandana asked.

I shook my head.

"Madd you're joking" said the blue eyed boy.

"No" I shook my head "sorry" I shrugged.

"Maddison stop it" he said.

"Nash stop" Mahogany walked over to him.

"No Mahogany she has to be joking" he yelled tears streaming down my face.

Nash started walking over to me.

"Nash stop it" Hazel said stepping in front of him while two other boys held him back.

"No let go of me" he screamed.

"Aaron, Jacob please take him outside"

They dragged him outside and watched his shadow fall to the ground.

"Why was he so mad?" I asked.

"He loves you. He is your boyfriend after all" Hazel said.

"Oh" I said. groaning and lying down.
