Chapter 18

Joe's point of view.

The ride was painfully long. Although I don't mind flying, Lola obviously didn't and seeing her in distress for the entire flight made me feel uneasy. With the added stress from her parent's situation, I couldn't imagine what she must feel like. At least I can give her some degree of comfort.

Once we'd landed, it took seconds for us both to rush of the plane and collect our bags. We met up with Zoe and Alfie, and called a taxi to bring us to the hotel. We'd booked a five star, each couple had a deluxe room and from what the Internet said, they were gorgeous. I couldn't wait to see the look on Lola's face, she deserved it.

"It's amazing!" she whispered in disbelief as we both stepped into the room. To the right, there was a door which I'm guessing led to the bathroom. A huge queen sized bed stood in the middle of the room, with a table and lamp on either side and sofa to the left. The thing that surprised me the most, however, was the wall opposite the bed, which was a massive glass fish tank reaching from one end of the room to the other.

Lola immediately ran over to the tank, observing every different fish in turn. I stood behind her, watching as her eyes widened in amazement. "Beautiful isn't it?" I mumbled whilst kissing her cheek lightly. She nodded, not removing her gaze from the wall.

"Do you want to go get food?" I asked, grabbing my sunglasses from my hand luggage. "Sure." she replied, reluctantly returning her attention to me. I locked the door, before we made our way to a pizza place just a few streets away.

I could already tell this was going to be an amazing holiday.
