Chapter 57

Lola's point of view.

I took my phone out of my pocket and dialled Zoe's number, wiping away the tears as it rung.

"Lola?" She asked, and I began to sob at the sound of my name.

"Zo," I mumbled through tears. "Can you come over?"

"What's wrong?" She asked, her voice shaking. "Lo, tell me what's wrong."

"I-I just, can you come over, please?" I pleaded, my cries filling the silence.

"Lo, we're staying at Alfie's mum's. Please tell me what's wrong."

I hung up before she could continue, and rested my head back on the wall, banging it against the plaster. Although it made my headache a million times worse, it took away the pain of what had just happened, so I continued to do it until I fell unconscious.

Joe's point of view.

As soon as I awoke, I headed towards Caspar's flat. Without even slipping on a new pair of jeans, I was on the tube and ignoring the strange looks I was receiving from the public.

"Caspar open the door now!" I demanded, as an extremely tired Caspar opened the front door just a fraction, allowing me to see less than half of his face. I sighed as he rubbed his eyes clear of dust, and pushed my way past him, rushing over to the toaster.

It was only when I sat at his table, tearing the crusts off of the freshly toasted bread, that I remembered everything that had happened last night. The memories seemed to haunt me as I broke down in tears, and Caspar rushed to my side.

"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly, setting his slice of cold pizza on the table.

"I messed everything up, Cas." I replied, my voice cracking half way through.

"With Lo?" He asked, and I nodded.

"What happened?" He sighed, resting his arms on the table.

"I-I brought us a house,"

"That's great?" He exclaimed, his cheeks going slightly rosy. I nodded, frowning.

"B-But, she didn't know. She thought I was cheating on her,"

"It's understandable." He remarked, smiling sadly at me. I just hummed, reluctantly agreeing with him.

"I got really angry, Cas. Too angry."

He knew by the look on my face, that I'd done something stupid.

"What?" He looked me in the eye, searching for the answer.

"I p-punched the wall," I paused. "Next to her head."

"You idiot." He scoffed, laughing slightly.

"It's not funny." I said, my voice raised.

"Joe, couples fight all the time. Yeah, you got a bit angry, so do I! Just apologise, she loves you to much not to forgive you."

"I can't just barge in there now and say sorry!" I shouted, standing up from my seat. Caspar looked a little flustered, leaning back in his chair. I sat down again and mumbled an apology.

"Listen, Cas. The only way I'll forgive myself is if I do something special. I just, I don't know what."

He looked at me like I'd just insulted him.

"It's obvious, Joe." He smirked, a plan formulating in that sexually frustrated head of his. "You just brought a house, right?" I nodded, not catching on to his idea at all.

"Housewarming party ring any bells?"

---

Lola's point of view.

"I don't know why I got so angry, Tan! If I hadn't of just assumed he was out with some other girl, this would never have happened!" I screamed, nearly pulling my hair out.

"Lola, calm down. It's perfectly ok to think like that when it's happened before. You just didn't give each other a chance to speak before everything go out of hand." She spiked calmly, leading me back to the sofa.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled, digging my head into my hands and catching the tears that were falling into my open palms. "I'm an emotional wreck."

"It's okay." She soothed, rubbing my back gently. "Just apologise and it'll be sorted."

"I can't just apologise!" I replied, rubbing away my tears. "I-I have to do more!"

"More?"

"Yes! I-I was horrible to him! I knew he'd never do anything like that again b-but I-" I burst into tears again, feeling the weight of my many emotions suddenly crash down on me.

"That time of the month, huh?" She whispered in my ear, stroking my auburn hair out of my face. I nodded silently, wrapping my arms around her waist.

After a few moments of me quietly crying and her whispering soothing words into my ears, she spoke up again.

"He brought a house, right?" I nodded, creasing my eyebrows.

"And?"

"Do you know where this house is?" I bit my lip, trying to think of any way of getting in contact with the agency.

"I think he left the papers in his coat." I replied, still confused. She smirked, grabbing Joe's coat off the rack and searching inside both pockets.

"How about you go over there and surprise him?" She smiled evilly, reading the papers.

"Not today!" I exclaimed, snatching the few letters off of her.

"No, a few days time, it'll give you both some time to breathe." I nodded, scanning the papers.

"Will you do it?" She asked, waiting for confirmation.

"I guess."
