Chapter Two

A sound of an alarm clock woke me up from my deep slumber.

Since when did I own an alarm clock?

The realization hit me. Oh, shoot! I forgot that I'm not in my old room anymore. I slowly opened my eyes and checked the side table, clicked the stop button, and throw myself again into the bed.

Time check. It's five o'clock in the morning. So early.

I tried to sleep again but I failed miserably and just decided to open my window and slide the curtains. I put my hair up and washed my face in the bathroom before going out and making myself some coffee.

Always start your day with a good cup of joe in the morning.

The lights in the house are still out meaning I'm the only one who's up.

I opened the kitchen light and searched for something I could eat as I wait for the water to heat. I couldn't find any that will suit my taste so I decided to open the windows up and inhaled the cold morning breeze as it touched my skin like a falling feather from above.

I also tied up the curtains and watered the plants. I immediately go downstairs as fast as I could when I heard the kettle whistle. I turned off the stove and make myself some coffee.

After that, I chose to spend my time here upstairs, enjoying the view of the sunrise. What can I do? That freaking alarm clock woke the hell out of my system.

I'm not a morning person but if this will be the view I will wake up with, I'm completely okay with it.

I leaned my head on the window frame as I watch some fishing boats approaching the shore. I can even hear the fisherman yelling at someone who's waiting for them in the sand and it looks happy. Did they catch plenty of fish? That's cool.

"Marami ba ang nahuling isda?" I screamed in shock as I suddenly heard Mama's voice behind me. She just laughed at my face and stand beside me. I almost let go of my mug because of her.

"Ma! Don't just pop out of nowhere like that!" I complained that made her laugh more.

"Sorry, sorry! My bad" She said and hugged me behind. "Good morning, 'nak"

"I almost had a heart attack! What if I drop this mug? Not funny" I said before sighing.

"I already said sorry! Eto naman! Malay ko bang di mo ko narinig" She reasoned out that made my eyes roll. I just finished my coffee and put the mug on the coffee table before going back to the window.

"Pero marami ba?" She asked. I shrugged.

"I don't know. I'm not the one who fished" Mama pinched me on my waist because of my answer. "What?"

"Pilosopo"

"I'm just stating the fac—ah!" I said and Mama pinched me again. "Ma!"

She glared at me and fixed her hair. She picked up the mug I left on the table before walking towards the stairs. "Kakasama mo yan kahapon kay Lillian. Sumunod ka sakin sa baba. Tulungan mo ko sa kusina"

"No!" I said and run towards my room and locked it. I just smiled and sat on the chair near the study area.

I checked the drawers, one by one. It just contains some papers, pens and some outdated magazines so I closed it and relax.

My eyes darted again to the window in front of mine. I remember how I saw something walk in the dark. I don't know what is it but it give me chills last night.

I'm not afraid of ghost but jumpscares and creepy kinds of stuff is not my thing.

There's no such thing as a ghost in the morning, right?
